UPDATE - forum URL's now SEO - JP Fitness Forums

hi all

i've installed the new VBSEO plugin to the forum, to make the URL's more user friendly and search engine friendly. this shouldnt affect the performance of the forum. if anything it should be better.

if anyone comes accross any problems, can they please reply here, so i can look into it.

also, if you're looking for a more user friendly URL for your profile blog's. here's an example format:

http://forums.jpfitness.com/members/susieblue.html

just change the "susieblue" part, for your own user name. that will be easier for you if you're linking it externally.

I also noticed that you can access subforums with seo-friendly urls, like forums.jpfitness.com/training-discussion or forums.jpfitness.com/current-events.

I added social bookmarking to every post. You will now see a link to DIGG, Delicious, Technorti, and Furl on every post so people can link to it as one of their favorites. Example:

This will increase the traffic for certain post.

SEO = Search Engine Optimization.

Basically it takes the names of the forums post and makes them more searchable and more friendly to Google/Yahoo/MSN. For instance:

forums.jpfitness.com/forumdisplay.php?f=63 will now look like forums.jpfitness.com/craig-ballantynes-turbulence-training/

I hope this explains it a little better for you.

also the post content gets indexed too, so if someone searches using a phrase thats in a post or thread title etc, it should bring it back via the search engine they searched through

on a side note. it also stands for "susie's extra-ordinary" but its a secret, so keep it under your hat! :p

I didn't think that I sounded like a school girl.. I mean there were a couple of times.. but they didn’t prove anything in court.. I thought that was sealed and no one knew.
