One other question... Since the upgrade, can we embed video while in the WYSIWYG mode, or do we need to go to options and select "standard editing" as before?

Ah, I see... you don't copy their embed code at all, just the coded part of youtube's link. Which answers my question about standard/wysiwyg modes.

That would be great, because there are about 4 or 5 different sites from which we embed code pretty regularly on this forum, like www.break.com or www.comedycentral.com.

i had word back from the vbulletin team regarding the possibility of standardising this to allow for multiple options, and theyve stated that its not a viable option, because it leaves the forum open to too many security problems. it seems they removed this feature through the upgrades because of this.
the only solution i can see for now is to just post the link to the clip.
if you can pm me sample links to each site most commonly used, i'll se if i can create a bbcode for them, to see if that works. but it would have to be for set sites, not random ones.
Well, the two that I listed would be great, as well as ebaumsworld.com. Comedy central because of Jon Stewart's clips with the daily show.

ive tried to create similar bbcodes for those sites but its not liking it. the code from them varies too much from clip to clip, to allow it to be simplified for bbcode.
an alternative i found is a plugin that might fix this, but its dependant on the users using the actual URL to the clip, eg. http://sitename.com/filename.mp3
this might work, but it relies on the users inputting the right info, else it wont work. also, it means making changes to your core forum files, which could be risky when it comes time to upgrade/maintain etc.
i guess what im asking, is do you really want to make these changes, or can you just tell the users to post the links to the clip instead. for a forum this size, its not such an easy fix if it goes wrong. so it might be worth thinking about this.
Wow, glad it finally occured to me to look in this forum, this was driving me nuts.
Thanks!
