Looks like he doesn't want to tell us....someone forgot to check the protection on the route and almost killed himself and his climbing partner, maybe?

Hey guys,
Uuuhh, well, I actually have the full story all typed up, but it turned out to be a pretty nice little piece so I am shopping it out to a few magazines right now, and I don't want to blow it by already having it in print. I guess I could put it up and remove it if it gets purchased.

Hey, for a liberal Democrat, you have a pretty strong capitalistic streak!
J/K! Good luck with the article.

Assumption on my part...between the anti-war Bush bashing on MH, and the Clinton remarks (and I think you were in agreement with Lou on a number of political threads), I inferred that.
I straddle both sides of the fence...was a lifelong Republican with a heart for social issues until recently...now since the Bush Repubs have basically told anyone who isn't a fifth generation US citizen to f- off and shut up, I'm being forced away from the GOP pretty rapidly.

I don't think I bashed Bush on MH. Now on T-Mag that is a different story though. I did go on a pretty massive campaign. What you are saying about the immigration policy is pretty insidious as well, and you have every right to be offended. I don't feel like Bush is a real republican though... this administration doesn't want to reduce the role of government, rather they want to expand it. That is how I define my own conservatism. That and the fact that I would like there to be less of a burden on small businesses, especially when I see Bush's buddies (Enron, MCI) not paying taxes AT ALL, and not being punished for their crimes either. I'll tell you who I do like... Gen. Wesley Clark. Even if Bush was able to raise 3 times the money, I really don't think he could be Clark. He just needs to get off his ass and start raising money or he is not going to make it in time to be anything more than a viable VP candidate!

It's not the immigration policy so much as the shredding of rights and liberties. It's almost as if we learned nothing from the McCarthyism and Japanese internment episodes in the 40's and 50's. No oversight allowed by any branch to the executive...no review, no due process, secret trials and evidence, people disappearing off the streets nabbed by the feds only to be found in federal custody weeks later. "Trust us." Sounds a lot like a totalitarian state we're headed to. It's downright scary.
Yeah there are a lot of conservatives turned off by the so-called neocons running the GOP now. I'm just about turning libertarian!
