General Outdoor Fun DiscussionWhether you rock climb, kayak, snowboard, hike or hang glide, if you play outside and you play hard, come talk about it in here.
SHANNON my mother started windsurfing when she was 55..
I've always said to myself that I want to start something I haven't done yet at 55 as well.. that gives me 3 more years to decide.. so these days I'm thinking that I WON'T climb outside before that.. just in case I want to choose that as my new sport LOL
I haven't climbed out doors.. and parachuting.. I was real scared to when I was in my 20s because of my back problems.. but I hear that today the parachutes are much more precise and it's possible to have a softer landing.. so.. maybe I'll ask for that for my 70th birthday LOL
Well, we went back. Had our belaying all checked out, and now we are certified to climb there. For a whole day of climbing with gear rental it will run us 57-63 bucks depending on the day. Not bad for a full day of family fun.
It also got me thinking about putting up my own wall. =-)
A wall would be cool, I stumbled across pegs and instructions and stuff at one of the outdoor stores shortly after Shannon and I went. Would be pretty cool. Most houses would only allow a bouldering wall though, indoors anyhow. Of course if you had a 2 story with a high living room ceiling......
Og.

I was thinking about putting it in the garage. My walls are like 15ft high in there. I also thought about building it on the outside of my deck. thats 2 stories tall.
