Default painful blister- not sure this goes here

I've gotten addicted to racquetball lately. To treat myself I got some new shoes. My running shoes are Mizunos and I love them, so I searched out court shoes of the same brand. I found some Mizuno court shoes, same size as my running shoes. They seem to fit very well, and were comfortable to just wear around.

Now, with my running shoes I had developed a callus on the ball of both of my feet. This would be in that part of the bottom of your foot right where the big toe meets, and sort of off to the side. I'm not sure if it was my running shoes, or the types of movements that are involved with racquetball (lots of sprinting, and quick direction moves).

With wearing my new court shoes twice to play, I developed a blister right in front of and underneath that callus. The second time I played I put moleskin on the blister after carefully cleaning and drying it. The moleskin got sweaty and fell off, and the blister came back worse than before.

So... Are my new shoes crap? Will I be able to break them in eventually or did I waste $80? Should I play in a different pair of shoes for a while to give my foot time to heal? Will that area eventually callus so I don't get a blister? Are there any products besides moleskin that will help prevent this blister or speed the healing?

Thanks!

I hate blisters! I use a product called Second Skin. It's a clear, gel-coated plastic thing that you tape over your blister. I think it helps a lot for healing and comfort. Could help for prevention if you know where your blisters form. Not sure about the shoes. Could be them giving you trouble, or could be the new movements.

Thanks Evie.

I went to Wal-greens and looked for the second skin stuff, but couldn't find any. I got some band-aid blister cushion things, and some other band-aid product that's supposed to decrease friction in hot-spots. Oh, and some big ass band-aids.

It's definitely got to be the shoes, because I've been playing racquetball for 2 months, but only gotten blisters the past 2x I've play. I'm just hoping I'll develop a callus or the shoes will break in eventually.
