Default triglycerides

I did post this in nutrition area, but than realized maybe it would be better here.

I'm not sure if it's an appropriate topic, but what foods/drinks are associated with high triglycerides. My husband is always diagnosed with high triglycerides - but they never say that he has to go crazy with worry and all his other numbers are normal.

They also never really explain in detail what this actually means. I know or believe it has something to do with sugar.

Anyone have more information on this and what type of diet is best for this.

Some believe that triglyceride/HD ratio is the more important indicator of heart health. Also that high trig. are more significant than high LDLs. There is a lot of raging controversey in all of this. Omega 3s in highish doses (up to 4 grams a day, and that is O-3s, not just total fish oil) improve triglycerides. They did lower mine.

Jenny in Blood Sugars 101 discusses some of this. (blog or book)
