Default mono..any stories/advice

So, I was diagnosed with mono a week ago. I have been in bed aaalll week and I am going stir-crazy!! My doc says it will be another 2 weeks minimum before getting back to the gym. I feel soooo tired, lazy, useless and worthless...I know I need to be careful of my spleen, but is there anything I can do? I cant stand this feeling, my body is going to mush...blach!

My 12 year old got it last year. 1 week bedrest, 2 weeks no gym (school type), 2 weeks later he was fine. 5 weeks to recover. Sorry but it's a great time to catch up on your reading list!! LOL

Oh boy, I wish I could give you some positive reinforcement. I had mono the summer I turned 14. I honestly wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I was down for a good 5-6 weeks and all I really remember was an incessant sore throat and being SOOOOOO TIIIIIIRED. My mom woke me up to eat and I slept the rest of the day.

Good luck, just get your rest and worry about getting in shape when you are back at 100%. You will risk injury if you push yourself too quickly.

Two weeks? That's a pretty optimistic doctor. I was weak for six or more. There was a two week period that I don't even remember. Maybe that's what the doc is talking about.

I hope you feel better, soon.
