Red face It smells so bad it could peel wallpaper

I know this might sound very immature. For some reason I have really horrible smelling "gas". What could be the cause of this? I do eat a lot of carbohydrates like whole wheat. I am so sorry for the immature question but it is a big problem. Also, it is a little embarrassing asking this question as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a reaction to wheat, dairy, whey... I would cut one thing our at at time and see what is causing it.

Or do an elimination diet, cut out all commen allergens then slowly add them back in one at a time untill you find out what is causing this issue.

But I'm no expert...

I looked at your fitday log and see a lot of processed foods. My first suggestion would be to try to eliminate any foods that come in a box ( I know I know, that's not easy). Also, don't combine fruit with other foods. Try to eat them alone. Another suggestion is to increase your fluids, especially if your fiber intake is high. Are you constipated? Try taking a colace or stool softner so you are pooping more frequently. hth - Toni

What did you notice in my fitday log that I should eliminate?? Because my nutrition has always been my weakness.

Yeah, you're eating a lot of processed foods:

A lot of cereals, animal crackers...start by eliminating the processed flour and eat more vegetables. You're barely eating any.

My suggestion is to go with a faux painting technique like sponging or marbling. It's a classic look that won't look dated in 10 years like wallpapers usually do. And it won't peel.

Good luck!

Is the gas new? Processed foods don't cause gas. People can eat that crap all the time and never fester on the inside. Assuming this is somewhat new, look for what changed.

Something added or subtracted from your diet?

Illness?

More food being eaten daily?

More of a certain food (even if it's in one sitting). Milk, for instance. Some people can drink a cup at every meal and be fine. Drink two and lactose intolerance rears it's ugly head.

what does your milk or Starbucks intake look like? While I love them both, my family has forbade me to enjoy them.

Use The Force, young Padawan.

These things should not be suppressed. Use them in the back of crowded elevators, trains or buses. At meetings sit next to your boss, let one go, look at him and exclaim "Dude!" Crop dust coworkers cubes and the break room. Don't let this opportunity pass.

I'm with citymouse, but it was the classic look of sponging or marbling that caught my eye. For a moment I wondered how one could marble the results of that particular function.

But on a more serious note - try digestive enzymes.

Hey I have a question, what are some of the elements that one would be missing out on when someone does not eat 100% Whole Wheat Bread vs. White Bread. I understand that 100% whole wheat bread has more fiber. But if the white bread is fortified or enriched what would I be missing in my diet?? (Also, I am active so I don't need to worry about my blood glucose spike.

Good question. Check out the nutrition info on the two. white & wheat

Did you know that you can use nutritiondata.com to compare multiple items? You might have to register, but it's a nice feature.

Here's an article on the differences between the two, though. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m.../ai_n12938278/

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this before. I have narrowed down my problem. I can eat white bread, but it seems when ever I eat whole wheat bread I feel the "grumble" in my stomach. They both contain gluten, so it can't be Celiacs disease. What could it be?

Have you tried sprouted grain bread (like Ezekial)?

Grains, particularly the husks, contain certain anti-nutrients. They can be neutralized by soaking, fermenting, sprouting, etc. No guarantees...

Sometimes eating quickly digested food (like fruit) on top on food that takes a lot longer (like bread) and the fruit will 'rot' before it is digested properly from being held in the upper stomach too long.

In "Fit for Life" that was a big part of the book, explaining why 'gas' happens and how to avoid it.

For myself, it's important for me not to overlap meals that often, and give each mini-meal a chance to digest before putting more in my stomach. That really does make a big difference.

Try digestive enzymes & probiotics. I was reading a post about your GI problems-these have worked for many including myself.
