Default Secrets for recovering from illness?

Anyone have secrets that they use to help them recover more quickly from general energy-draining illnesses like colds and fevers? I don't like to take any medicines other than ibuprofen. I typically pump in a bunch of flax seed oil and B12, just looking for any other "home remedies."

Secrets of living a long life

Growing older today is very different from what it used to be.
Those in today's older generation live longer and are more active.
Even though times have changed, there is still noticeable difference in the way people age. Some people look and act younger than their peers.
In the July 2005 issue of AARP Magazine, Sarah Mahoney wrote 10 Secrets of a Good, Long Life. For her article, she interviewed a group of Americans who have lived active lives after the age of 85.

I know there has been plenty of 'discussion" on the validity of Ear candles, but I know from personal experience that they work wonders when myself or the kids have colds.

I barely ever get sick, but when I do:
-I make sure I eat alot
-I make sure I sleep alot
-I make sure I keep really warm(put on extra jumpers + turn the heater on)
-I drink hot drinks(usually don't)
-Sometimes I have some butter menthols
-No medication at all

That's what I do when I get sick, although it only happens maybe once a year. I only remember being sick for more than 2-3 days once, usually it passes quickly.

Sleep is key. I'd put your work out on hold. Your body can do all that at once.
