Exclamation Yellowish Skin(hands)

Hey everyone today my mom said that my hands look extremely yellow. I do not smoke or anything. What could be the cause of this??? I have been also, short of breath and seemed more tried during workouts. Any ideas what this could be???

Go see your doc. Sounds like jaundice to me. That sends bells off for a number of kidne related problems and /or respiratory issues. Get in there asap.

agreed, kidney or liver problems can make you yellow. so could eating too much of certain vegetables but regardless its never ok when you start to change colors. go to your doc asap.

Yellow palms: usually due to excess beta carotene. Not harmful by itself. May also be seen in diabetes. You should see your physician about your other symptoms as I doubt they're related.

Jaundice shows up in places like the whites of your eyes long before you'll see it in your skin; also will have change in the color of your feces typically. Self tanner will also make hands yellow/orange.

HTH.

Just curious - this is kind of an old thread - was there some spam to wake it up that then was deleted?

Seeing this does make me wonder what the cause of the yellow hands was. I would guess self tanner but the original post was in January.

I think you have a future in HMOs, Tina. Six months is the kind of referral timeframe people have come to expect from HMOs.

I thought you were throwing in your guess to the pool...albeit a much more eductated guess.

I was wondering if you were right or not.

Yellow mustard isn't bad but Spicy Mustard is just plain wrong.
