Default research regarding how exercise helps the heart

This link discusses research regarding how exercise helps women's hearts (and reduces stroke). The article highlights the reduction of inflammatory markers as a result of exercise.

Wouldn't this spill over for men as well? I LIKE these kinds of articles! Thanks!

The fact that exercise would help reduce the risk factors for heart disease would cross over but as with any study you can't say that the exact same thing would happen for another population group (in this case males) as thats not what the study looked at.

Women do have different enzyme activity and hormonal profiles, and (to the best of my knowledge) its not known why women have a reduced risk of heart disease compared to men. Is it one of these factors? Could make millions of researching that.

Estrogen prior to menopause is thought to reduce cardiac risk due to the benefit on the LDL/HDL ratio. We probably don't understand it all, because estrogen after menopause doesn't reduce cardiac risk.

Yeah, I was just supporting the notion that exercise is a good thing for everybody... before this totally new information comes out after the testing on males. Poor rats... guess they got left out of this one.

I'd never talk anyone out of exercising. My career is getting people to exercise.

Just wanted to post about how people extropolate research to other groups when that shouldn't be done.

Now for the masses to start exercising to reduce heart disease risk.
