Unhappy

... and couldn't help but notice that the vast majority of people were fat to VERY fat! Even couples that looked fairly trim had fat kids. I thought it would be a good cross section of the population since people come from all over to go here. Looked to me as if the stats we read about obseity in America are pretty close. By the way, when I heard a foreign language being spoken (not Spanish since a lot people who live there speak this), often those people were not as fat as the typical Americans.

By the way, I was there to attend an academy in one of their hotels, not to go to the park (and I didn't). We got to see some of the behind-the-scenes stuff but it didn't occur to me until later to ask if they have changed their building specifications to accomodate all the bigger bodies... bet they have!

I thought about posting this as a part of this thread:

... but then I read in there that I had lobbied for this area so thought I'd stick with my original assertion. By the way, maybe a moderator over there could still move that one over here. I still think it's not really a(n) FAQ.

Q, I was going to post something similar to this very subject when I got back a few days ago from Ocean City. I really don't want anyone to think I am bashing people for being overweight because it's not that at all. It's just a testimony that shows people really do need to shape up and start eating right and taking care of themselves. It is becoming a major problem in the US and if people would just look around and see it, maybe something could change. We are going to have some major medical concerns to deal with in the coming years.

OC is a resort town with a pop of around 10,000. That number rises to about 300,000 in the summer months. As you can guess, the beaches were CROWDED. Out of the people I could see within my view, I would say, there were about 4 of us that actually looked like we took care of our bodies. I wish it was not that way, but it's the reality I have seen. Hoping I can do some small part to make people happier and healthier, even if it's just one person at a time.

When I was down in disney world about 2 years ago, we noticed the same thing. There's something ironic about people getting so fat they use those electric carts to get around, and burn even less calories :|
