Question

any experience with products containing these? They are supposed to be the real deal for lowering LDL. Since that is my particualr genetic problem (all other lipid profiles are normal to food), I thought I'd give these a whirl: Minute Maid Hearth Healthy and Take Control Spread. Your thoughts?

All over the place. It's been around for a while (5 years at least) but now manufacturers are getting on the bandwagon to put plant sterols into everything. And since Orange Juice seems to be the vehicle of choice to try to put everything in (I'm waiting for the new 'protein enriched OJ' - no doubt it is on the way), they're putting it in that.

I have to say that Take Contol is pretty yummy.

I don't believe so; that looks like something that empahsizes fish oils (Omega 3s). The next effect may be the same on lipid profiles in the long run, but the mechanism would be totally different than items which emphasize plant sterols.

if you're wondering, i think it's pretty tasty!
