I picked up a new sport this year. Last weekend we clinched a national playoff birth with a win on Saturday. Then won our territory, the mid-atlantic, on Sunday to secure a #4(of 16) seed at nationals.
BUK = second from the left, front row.
BUK = #5 in Blue.
BUK = man on the left.
I hope to get some better pictures from our last few games soon.

That is where they started me, mostly due to personel needs. But the last 2 games I started at 6, then moved out to wing with 20 minutes left. My first game as #6, my 4th game ever, was our territorial semi-final against your hometown, Old Gaelic; and I recieved the man of the match award in our 51-35 victory! Our territorial final was against another PA team, Harrisburg, which we won 37-12. I will probably be starting at #7 during the first few rounds of nationals.
I am guessing you were a second row when you played?
Buk, nice wins over what I think are pretty good teams. I know they always kicked our asses, York White Rose, now disbanded. Congratulations on starting for what must be a tough side in only your first season. I'd think your better suited for wing forward than second row, which requires much more intelligence and good looks.

Don't know what gave you that idea.

Well done on getting so far, especially in your first season.

I love how Rugby is becoming so popular in the states. Participated recreationally, and watch immensely over the years, and now some people here are looking to do S&C for it as well. They are tough athletes that train to the burger. Nice pics Buk!
Thanks Bill, Old Gaelic was espically tough. It is too bad we met them in the semis instead of the finals, they should be going to Nationals with us. Wing Forward(flankers to some) is probably where I will end up, but we have a great #8 and 2 very solid flankers already. One is out for the first 2 rounds of nationals, so I will be starting at #7 in South Carolina. I am also pretty good at prancing, so get a little bit ouf time out on the wings too.
It is Rugby Union, I don't think there is really any League in the US. I don't think I would have taken to rugby league as much as I have taken to union.
Thanks SirJames. Now I spend time kicking myself wondering why I didn't start 5 or 6 years ago. I have always know there was a local team, and someone at the gym use to always try to get me to come out, but I didn't know how welcoming they would be to a newbe. In January I got tired of the recreational-ness of the local soccer league and showed up at the first rugby pratice of the season and told them I was there to learn to play - and they were happy to have me.
Good stuff Craig, that looks like fun. Probably the only team sport I'd be interested to play.
