Hi Everyone! I haven't been around much and posted in Bill's log, so Lost Dog told me I should give an update. Life is good and really busy. I am trying to get a Fitness Business started while still working full time in a gym, its pretty crazy.
I did another strongman contest this summer, but it was my only contest. It unfortunately fell right on the date of the Summit this year which is why I wasn't around. Here are a few pics from the contest.
Frame Carry - 610 lbs - I went about 7 feet total, that sucked.
Press Medley - Supposed to press lots of stuff. I decided not to press any of it. This is as close as I got:
Tire Flip into Fingal Finger - Tire flips were great, fingal, not so much.
More in next post...

Fingal Finger - Right after this I dropped it on my neck...
Axle Deadlift for Reps - Really my only good showing of the day, 6 reps at 425
And another cause it was a good event:
Truck Pull - this was okay. Nothing major to report. No cool pics of the truck so you will have to take my word it wasn't a tiny tiny car...

I'm sure you'll kick more ass in January. Pretty impressive deads, there, Danny.
I like Qdoba better, too. There Tortilla soup and Mexican Gumbo are awesome. I'll give them a straight tie when it comes the burrito, though. Both places are huge.

nice pics dude! Which contest was this? What was the stone run and the overhead medley? 425x6 on an axle should put you close to that 500lb pull, right?
We need to do the same contest sometime next year! I'm still waiting to see what's posted. The circle city contest in Indy looks tempting, but the farmers look just a little out of my strength levels at the moment

Hey Man, I have been meaning to PM you to see how training is going.
The overhead medly was: 170 sandbag, 200 keg, 220 12inch log, 240 axle, 260 12inch log if I remember correctly, although I feel like there was a heavier log at the end, I can't fully remember. The interesting thing was that you could do the implements in any order you wanted. That ended up messing two guys up.
The stone run was: 225, 275, 300, 325, 345. I couldn't break the 325 after the first three.
I wish I was closer to a 500 pull. My deadlift is weird. During a contest I am typically good for 25-50 more lbs than I can pull in training and I can typically take a weight for an extra 3-5 reps more than training. Its really hard to predict. I also do really well at deadlift for rep events, because breaking the bar from the ground is the hardest part for me. Even with a lift signal I can stay tight after the first rep and keep pounding them out. I should be good for mid-400's right now and high 400's pulling sumo.
Hopefully there will be a contest or two we can both go too. Tons of contests now have totally crazy farmers and overhead numbers. Its hard to want to sign up for them with my lack of training. We will see how winter goes.
Danny
