When my mom found out I'm "bulking" again she felt compelled to give me this pic for motivation. Wow....it has been one long and wild ride. Here I am at 115 lbs after my first year of lifting.
Here I am currently. 193, attempting to get to 215.
sorry about the shitty camera phone pics but its all I got.
Feel good now, a bit smooth but I feel the thickest I have ever been. Will post up some more when I am done gaining weight, then hopefully after a nice successfully cut.
I have known allot of you guys for some time, hell some of you since that first pic was taken! I would not of gained close to 80 lbs in the past 6 years if it wasnt for you guys. For that I thank you all.
Personal opinion for what it's worth. 215 is HYOOOGE... Why do you want that? You look really muscular and even a bit lean right now. With moderate effort you could shred down to 185 and look incredible.
Your proportions are pretty good right now, but they will be unappealing to anyone outside the "bodybuilding world" (99% of us) if you hit 215, even if you stay at your current bf.
You're young and ambitious, which is admirable. I only wish when I was your age (and looked very similar to you with very similar goals) that I would have stopped and appreciated what I had, and didn't always push so hard for more. My 4 shoulder surgeries and constant neck and hip pain are reminders of how I ignored all of that advice.
You will love the strength increases from 195-215 no doubt (even though this is not your goal, i know!) . There seems to be a nice difference in strength being over 210 or so for myself.
I dont think 215lbs is to big, then again when i weighed 250lbs i thought about making a run to 260+ but i stopped solely for future health concerns.

To think that a few days before my 22nd B day, that all I have left in my lifting life is maintenance is depressing.
I couldnt really care if the general public thinks I am crazy or will look unappealing. Hell I think 99% of the population looks unappealing, guess its a mutual thing.
I do not wanna die wondering if I maxed out my genetic potential, be it physical or mental. I wanna die knowing I achieved what god set as my limit, only so I could tell him that he underestimated my will.
i already talked to you, but looking big man. Keep pushing those legs.
i'm actually going to cut down a few lbs after my contest is over, probably. I want to get to a pretty lean 200-210 (slowly), and then bulk back up to 231 (slowly). Since i'm going to be competing in the 231 weight class, i need to try and hold as much functional weight on my frame as i can at that body weight.
sorry for the thread hijack.

Heh... I can't really argue with you on that. Honestly it's like talking to myself when I was your age.
Not trying to change your mind, but believe me when I tell you that when you're 40 you will absolutely not give a shit about whether or not you "reached your max."
You're looking great Steve. I understand about wanting to find your genetic potential, but take what JP said under advisement too. I remember that first pic and you've come a long way! I'm proud of you!
I wouldn't give you that advice if you still looked like your first pic. The problem with us [men] is that we don't know where to stop. In our 20's, the goal body just keeps sliding up as we progress... We're NEVER satisfied and never big enough.
If you showed that skinny kid you were a picture of where you are, he would be stoked, and he probably wouldn't be saying, "yeah, but that body would look better with 15 more pounds of mass!" He'd be saying, "THAT is what I want to look like!"
Steve very, very nice! While a part of me agrees with JP, I have enough youth and newbie excitement to encourage you onwards. I don't think we ever stop entirely with the getting better and bigger. It just slows down to a trickle after you reach your top end. So I think you will never have just maintain in the world of bodybuilding. Arnold worked for years and years and years building symentry in his body and you will have to do the same.
Have you done a cut yet? It is an eye-opening experience RE how much lean mass you have and how much you can gain. Perhaps it would be wise to do one of those soon (before you reach 215) so that you can see what you got and then go for another bulk.

yes, but striving to make yourself better is never a bad thing. Once you become complacent, things get boring fast, and you stop making progress. I'm still young, but in the mentality that you should always strive to make yourself better, in one aspect or another in your life.

Wow, what a transformation! While you may think you have a little ways to go, let me remind you that a transformation like yours is very inspiring to others! Way to go
