Progressing with Help from Coach Hale
Having been a LOOOOOOOONG time friend and collaborator with Coach Hale, I asked his aid in helping me to trim down (for health reasons) My aim is to end up @ around 275lbs...down from 351lbs
A little background on myself... I am a former collegiate offensive lineman for a Division I SEC school. After leaving school I became very interested in Powerlifting and strongman from my former collegiate S&C coach Jim Wendler. I have competed in 8 meets to date...
Leaving high school I was a svelte 245lbs., by the time I was done with college I had packed on enough weight to get to 330lbs. and in the last few years had ballooned as high as 358lbs. I have trained under/with Coach Hale for more than a decade now, and he never ceases to amaze me. Below are pictures, approximately 5 months apart, the first were just after x-mas (351lbs.), and the others only last week (302lbs.). Im about 25lbs. from my goal of dropping 2 weight classes. The main focus on this diet has been simplicity. Simplicity for the sake of my incredibly hectic work and training schedule...Thats what Ive stressed to the coach, and thats what he's given me... BEFORE: 351lbs. ![border=]()
MID POINT: 302lbs

Almost 50lbs lost, that's awesome!
Also, you look like you can lift ALOT, lots of muscle there too. What are your best powerlifting numbers, and when was your last meet?

Best Numbers:
745 SQ
505 Bench
635 DL
All numbers are drug free, however are in double ply gear.
Havent competed in quite a while, Ive had a number of injuries (torn pec, dislocated knee, bulged disc, etc.) which have kept me off the platform for about 2 years now. Plan is to return to the platform in August for Bench only as my knee still isnt back to 100% following its dislocation 3 months ago

I have known Will for 11 years. We met in the gym i used to own. He has came along way since then (he was 14 yrs old)
Imagine this monster doing Brazilian jiu-jitsu or boxing. He participates in these sports on occassion.
Will and one of his friends are in the process of opening up a new gym. Will tells me he is a specimen also. The gym will be equipped with all of your powerlifting and stongman needs.
Will was in town last week and him and i did some outdoor training.
We performed various kb, cb movements and finished with some Thai Boxing Training. That big leg coming at you looks like a telephone poll being launched
Guess what Will's diet secret is? Big Calorie Reduction!
thanks,
Coach Hale

Thanks Leigh, and thank you Coach...
With a long history of heart disease/diabetes in my family, this was something I had to do. Will share more pictures in the coming months. And again cannot thank the coach enough for his years of help, advice, and friendship.
Also a quick plug for our facility 1-0-7 Barbell.
We are currently in the process of moving to a larger warehouse facility (we were originally located out of Ben Moore's (NAS Pro Strongman, Elite PLer 275lb.) House). We are fully equipped for both PL and Strongman.

You guys still have that tire? I thought Ben wanted to get rid of it... I'll have to come check you guys out once you get up and running.

Damn, you're a big ol' boy. Looks like that facility is gonna be a treat. I've got a pretty good gym down here in Aussie-land, but I'm always jealous of the guys with their own digs.
Good luck w/ everything.

Will, I just realized who you are - I'm finishing my degree at U.K. (been working on and around campus a long time) and live in Lexington.
Good luck with your goals - I'm sure you'll do well.

You sure have a great foundation to work with! Holy Schmoley!
You also look like you have some serious corrective training to do before you get your squat and DL numbers back up. If you draw vertical line from your head to the floor it goes through your right hip.
Good luck!
