Making progress but not there yet...
These aren't necessarily pics to be proud of but I wanted to get them online to post my progress. Unfortunately I don't have any good before pics but I'll post the one that got me motivated to get in shape. This first pic was taken January 10th in Morocco after hiking to the top of this mountain (not very high though and there was a road....). I am the one in the back row, all the way to the right (the only bald guy). As you can see, my stomach clearly is pressing against my shirt. At this point I was around 180 pounds and a 40 inch waist.
Now here are two pics taken today. My weight is actually at 176 right now but my waist is between 36.5 and 37 inches (seems to vary for some reason). So I've lost around 3 inches off my waist. I'm not sure what my body fat is but I would guess somewhere around 22-24%. I am in a hypertrophy routine right now but when that is done I would like to get down to 15% (but never been there before so not sure how to get there). Oh, and the bruises you see are because I started doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a couple weeks ago
And for what it's worth, I'm 39 years old.

Thanks Roland. The fact that I was up to 176 had me a little concerned so it's good to know others can see progress. When you see yourself every day it's really hard to tell. The transformation is all due to NROL which I started in January and I'm only about 1/2 way through. I've put on some weight during Hypertrophy I but think that is supposed to happen

Just a brief update. On Monday I bought one of the Omron bodyfat monitors. I know the BF % probably isn't completely accurate but from what I've heard it at least gives consistent readings so you can determine trends.
On Monday, 5/26, I was at 176.2 lbs and 18.4% BF.
Today, Friday, 5/30 I'm at 177.0 lbs and 17.8% BF.
So if that holds true, then I've gained .8 pounds but actually lost .9 pounds of fat. I'll be measuring weekly and see how it goes.

Thanks. Once I'm done with this I'll move into a 2-week transition period still following Chad Waterbury's program. Then we'll be on vacation for 2 weeks so I'll lift where I can but probably just do some bodyweight stuff and let myself rest. After that it's back to NROL where I will pick up where I left off, starting Hypertrophy II.
And the tat on my left arm is pretty new, still have to get it shaded in. It is an eastern diamonback rattler with the words, "Don't tread on me" written in the body of the snake. You can't see it from those pics but the head of the snake is right on the inside of my bicep. Looks pretty cool I think.

Well here are the 3 week results. Pics from left to right are from June 14th, June 28th and July 5th. I'm pretty happy with the results and my waist has gone from 37 inches to 34.25 in 3 weeks Normally the v-diet goes for 4 weeks but I'm ending it a week early and moving into the transition phase starting tomorrow. My wife is in Precision Nutrition's Women's Coaching Program and I want to be able to help her out as much as I can. So I'm going to be making dinners and stuff and trying out new foods and veggies at the same time as she is.
So here is the first pic:
But I think this one says it all. The pic on the left is from ~12 January 2008 in Morocco. I had been pretty inactive for the last 8 months and was 2 days into staring NROL. As you can probably tell from this pic my waist was at 40 inches and I weighed 180 pounds. The pic on the right is from today with a 34.25 inch waist and 166 pounds.
But I'm not done yet, just coming off the v-diet. I will be transitioning into eating within the PN guidelines and finishing up NROL (Hyper II and Strength I) and then I think I'll do EC's Maximum Strength.

Awesome work!
I don't know why I noticed... but why is the last picture blurred some?
Actually, on second thought, I don't want to know.

haha.....yeah, I originally made that photo to put in my Facebook album and I didn't think there needed to be any more details than really necessary....

You've done a nice job allen and I'm impressed with your being able to stick out the v-diet as long as you did; it's a real bitch from what I've heard.
I can really tell the difference in your face.

Nice work. I don't think I would have been able to stick with the V diet.
