Seriously? I mean, dude, I'm trying to be nice amongst all your attempts to call BS on my progress, but, Rowing Home - NCAA.com
It's freakin' NCAA. And technically, the season just started, 15 hour per week practice limit out-of-season.
Not calling BS on your progress at all, seriously. You look great; you really do.
Men's rowing has the IRA, which is not sponsored by the NCAA (look at that web site; they are all women. Many men's coaches are trying to get an NCAA sponsorship, but unless something has changed in the last month or so, and I haven't been paying attention, Gladstone et. al. have not been entirely successful). Women's rowing has the NCAA championships. Women's rowing (outside of the Ivies) largely exists because of football / Title IX. If men's rowing is considered a varsity sport (which would then mean that you have to work according to NCAA rules because of your athletics department, not because of the NCAA) at your school, you're lucky-- those programs are few and far between, and slowly disappearing. But, I am still surprised that as a varsity sport, you don't have access to a strength and conditioning coach like your competitors do. And if you DID have access to one, you'd not be on a bulking program at this point in the year (or, for that matter, in the fall. And in the winter, you'd presumably be erging so much that you'd be hard pressed to put on that much mass. You must eat a LOT!).
I'm not really intending to argue with you, as much as I'm surprised that you are allowed to lift like that and still row for a DI, varsity program. Again, I think you've made fabulous progress; I'm surprised that you are able to do that well, independently, while still rowing at the DI level.
There are a lot of DI programs-- like, Boston College-- that are CLUBs, but operate as a DI program and race at the IRA (BC women would race at NCAA if they were invited). Hell, I rowed DI in college for a club that achieved varsity status the year after I graduated (big lawsuit was threatened during my four years there as the school was not in compliance with Title IX), and I say that I "rowed DI" because most people either don't care or don't know the difference. Since then, I've coached DI for years, and repped boats all over the country, so I'm a little more anal about the distinction, because on the competitive level the distinction is HUGE.

If I had a camera I would take a shoe picture hehe, I've got some black and wite chucks ready for it too. Then I can finally find out my TRUE bodyfat... HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!
My guess, 11%
My opinion: freaking amazing body. Looking fantastic and no need to try for any more fat loss. If I were a guy I'd kill for that physique, and as a woman, can say that it's an attractive one.

sorry, I happen to think he looks good. What is the problem?! In the darkened-room shot, he's got visible abs -- that's a sign of near or about 10, right? He's also got a lot of arm veins...and fairly developed upper body all over. All those things add up to "good physique" in my books.
Don't worry, they're just men. We're incapable of merely admiring a physical specimen of the opposite sex without simultaneously wishing for her to "back that thing up", so to speak. So if they see a woman admiring a man's body, they assume she wants to ride him into the sunset.
It's your basic Freudian projection.

If you like the malnourished, just let out of a Russian prison look.
Shame on you for encouraging this.
OP get over yourself. Go post your pics at T-nation if you want your ego stroked, I'm sure you will greatly humbled.
There is no reason to continue taking pictures 3 weeks apart. Try 3 months. I am sorry but I am not impressed the slightest. You want my respect, post your back and legs after you gain 15 more lbs. Manipulating lighting angles and removing the color from the pic does not change the fact that I cant see any difference. You do not make significant visual gains in the matter of weeks. If you are going for the skinny kid look, well congrats you made it. If you want to look like someone who lifts weights or an athlete stop taking pictures and start squatting. I am not being mean, I am being honest. You happen to be lucky that this board is full of nice people, but that isnt what you want unless medeocricy is your goal. You have ALLOT of work to do. So start taking it serious and do not take another picture until your BW has been manipulated by at least 10%, judging by your pics that is about 15 lbs.
Start eating right, start lifting smart and start making progress. Until then there is no point in posting another myspace picture of the front of our torso.

Just to be clear, I don't feel like I'm anything special- but putting pics up online helps me see the progress I'm making and roll with it.
And just for the record, I've gone from 155 lbs to 197lbs. I squat regularly, and can squat 315 atg. I row- my legs are my greatest asset.
I've been working out for a grand total of four and a half months, pictures were taken at three months, and then four months for this most recent one. I'm pretty pleased with the progress I've made. Do I still have a long way to go? Of course. Am I anywhere near being happy with where I'm at? Of course not. But taking a look at what I look like even in December of this year, versus now, I'm very happy with the progress I've made.
EDIT: You also have been lifting for at least 4 years, on 'roids. What's with all the hate?
And Willie, I wound up quitting the team to focus on school, but they're having a very solid season.

If you legs were you best asset you would of posted a pic of them. Like I said there was no hate, just honesty. And how tall are you, because you do not look anywhere near 197.

And what makes you think I am on AAS.
I'm about 6'2. 197 as of today.
You said you were on AAS on the Tnation forums.
EDIT: Ask and you shall receive. Sans pump, as with all my other pictures.

um...thats new to me. because ive never taken roids nore have i ever said I have on t-nation numb nuts.
Why would you post a pic of the outside of your knee. show it from the front if you want someone to give an opinion, I wil say you need to work on your calves from what I see.
And dude, do not post pics of yourself and expect all criticism to be positive. And when somone gives you honest citicisim in stead of saying "omg hawt" do not try to slander them by making up shit. Why would you make something up like Ive been on juice for over 4 years, who the hell are you to know what I do with my life. And then lie and say I said it on another forum. You wanna monitor your progress fine, but do not fucking lie about it. You posted this for one reason, to fish for compliments and you know it. You want to "estimate your bodyfat" buy a pair of calipers. You want to monitor progress? How are you going to do that by comparing photos with diferent lighting, angles and color scale. Give me a break. You know you are hiding your skinny legs by posting a sideways picture and in reality all you proved is that you have no idea how to build hamstrings. 315 ATG my nuts.

I guess I must have misread your post then. I can't find it now, but I feel like it implied steroid use. It was probably just my brain being fried from two days of no sleep.
Calves are being worked on pretty heavily- I just naturally have really small calves.

I'm not expecting all positive comments. Trust me, I have no need to post pictures on here to have my ego stroked. I never said you were on the juice for four year- I said you had been lifting for at least four year(apparently seven) and I misread one of your posts. I already corrected myself on that.
Frankly, I don't care whether you believe my squats or not, it makes no difference to me. I do what I do, and whether some jackass on an internet forum believes me or not makes no difference to me.
So keep hating, maybe even make a third username to hate from. It's not going to bother me a bit.
Honest criticisms would be something I need to work on, not telling me I look like I have been starving in a siberian prison. I'm sorry that after 4 months of lifting, I don't look as good as you do after 7 years.
If you like the malnourished, just let out of a Russian prison look.

He doesn't look malnourished to me. He's not a jacked up huge bb-er, but he doesn't look that thin. I think he looks lean and fit?! I guess I'm in the minority?
He looks fine to me too, but I'm not sure what he's shooting for.
Waittz... Chill dude. You can say all those criticisms constructively without raking him over the coals. You are right that we are "nice" here (I don't mind that label, although I recognize it was a jab). We're not here to rip each other down. This IS a photo subforum after all.
You have some good points, but I think they get lost in all the anger, which honestly I don't get since you just got here.

Other than all that, welcome to the forum!
JP the "nice" wasnt a jab, it was a serious comment. People are are very friendly hence the comment. I wasnt raking over the coals until he made up some spat about me being on steroids. I gaev him honest criticism nad I got mad at that allegation. I dont care if someone thinks I am on roids, but to tell other people that I am and say I said it on t-nation is kind of a slap in the face. To the OP, like i said i am not attacking you, just giving you my feed back. Next time you take a pic, which hopefully will be after a couple of months of progress they should be the exact same pose and lighting or there is no way to judge progress.
n im not new here jp, I couldnt figure out how to change my user name so I just made a new one.
not to hijack this thread, but JP your PM box is forever full, I wanted you to merge the names or just change the old one like a week ago. Any chance that could happen.
actually, my shocked faces were because of ljk's glowing review of the pictures.
I don't know what your goal is. To me, you look skinny, and you need to add more muscle to your frame. You look like you have a good base to work with, but you need to keep getting bigger and stronger (if that's your goal).
I also agree with Waittz in saying that you're not going to see noticable changes in 3 weeks, so there's no need to post new pictures every 3 weeks. I would keep pounding the calories, and lifting hard, then post updates in a few weeks.
Waittz's comments were harsh, but i don't think they were out of line at all. If you go over to t-nation, you see posts like this all the time. Then the guys disappear and never post again.
To me, it would show much more dedication if your next pictures on this thread were after 4+ months, and you showed noticeable changes, rather than just posting pictures and saying this is where you are at.
