I've been working out since the year of 1998 when i came to the States for the first time. I've been trying so many programs, as well, but only a few worked for me. I did Homegrown Muscles program starting this year, & wow, it really gave me the shape, but now i hit my plateau. My wife just got the BFL program last week, & recommended me to try it. She said the program works for so many people, judging from the result photos & testimonials within 3 months. Is it really possible to change that much in 3 months? Well, i tried the program this week, & hell, i feel sores all over my body. I've never feel any sores for quite a while in any kind of programs. Is it truly a good program?

oops.. turned out another topic has discussed about it. I'm just wondering whether the program really works or not. I mean, looking at the Before & After pictures, i'm totally amazed. Who wouldn't want to have a result like that in 3 months. My wife's for sure into it. & i'm currently trying to fix the way i walk since this's the first time again my body ever feels so sore all over the place after a workout.

The only way you'll know if it works is if you try it. That program is what I started with and it lead me into other programs. It's a great start especially if it motivates you.

Tony, for sure, i felt really worn out every time i finished the workouts. I guess it was because of the High Point. Other programs i've tried haven't really made me worn out like this. It's surely taking me quite a while to recover as well. But i'm also wondering about the diet. Bill Phillips says that the trainee shouldn't eat until an hour after the workout, & there's also no pre-workout meal.. well, there is, 2-3 hours before a workout.. but it's not a pre workout meal; it's just a regular meal of Carbs+Prot.

Did u follow the program 100% in the diet & the training for straight 3 months, Tony? Did u also get the body like the Before-After picture in the book?

Sorry for asking too much. But i'm just interested in hearing from someone who has more experience than i do.

I didn't follow the diet.

No, I didn't get the body like in the before and after photos but what I did get was into the habit of working out (4 years and running now) and making fitness a part of my life which now has made me pretty close to those pics in the book. Bad habits are hard to break and good habits are hard to acquire. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Tony. That really helps. Your words made more sense to me than those testimonial stories.

No problem at all.

They key for me was initially to stick with it then as the results started to appear the motivational hunger was satisfied. It was kind of one thing leading to another. Making it a habit (the workouts and the eventually the diet) was the toughest part for me.

BFL was a plan for me, something solid that I had that I could follow. On paper, no questions, it was a plan all laid out for me.

edit: I misread and didn't realise that you have already been working for quite some time.

Here are a couple other programs that I have had good results with:

Pluggin along. . .

I keep wanting to see those three month BFL changes. . . gotta get that out of my head, or I'll get discouraged. But, I AM getting really good at handling the two-steps-forward, one-step-back progress with weight training and diet.

I should tell myself that's how I become a black belt several times over. Just keep showing up . . . that's what I tell my students. Gotta take my own advice to heart.

yup, i've been working out for a while. Having those up & down moments of Fitness. Honestly, what drove me interested in the BFL program were only 2 things: first, the Before-After picture; second, the 'only in 3 months' thing. I mean, wow.. that's fast. But then again i was looking for a real testimony from someone who's not doing the testimony in the book since i believe that more. But when i looked at the workout program.. i became doubtful. But i'm still gonna give it a try anyway .

Just a quick note regarding the before and after pictures. I have a friend who is a graphics/web designer and he recently did some work for a company marketing bulking tablets. He said that he was told to take pictures of well built muscular men (the supposed after pic) and using a range of industry art packages make him look smaller and also paler (the supposed before pic) Apparently somewhere hidden in the fine print for this product it basically states that the pictures are representations of what can be achieved using the product. i.e inferring that they are not actual changes but what may be expected.

I am in no way saying this is what Bill Phillips has done, i am merely suggesting that this kind of thing does occur in before and after pics.

The original program was sponsored by Muscle Media 2000. It was billed as a contest to chose a spokesperson for the magazine based on an essay along with before and after photos. I was fortunate to win the 5th spokesperson position. I believe there were eventually eight chosen before before the format and prizes changed. The photos were dated and taken by the contenstant. It is amazing what posture, elimination of body hair and skin color (tanning) can make. I did go from 14% to 6% bodyfat in twelve weeks. Roughly 16 lbs of fat loss. I know Bill is a tough businessman, but in my case everything he promised he delivered. The last step of contest screening was a extensive drug test to ensure applicants were natural. I know of two winners who were stripped of their contracts and prizes when they tested positive for anabolics. I think the Body for Life program is great for someone starting out.

Hello,
One of my clients was on BFL lasty year and lost 25 punds in those 12 weeks. Then became pregnant, now we are shedding the fat yet again.
All I am doing is visiting her everyonce in awhile to check on form. But is has been les then a month and she has lost several inches and almost 15 punds.

So yes BFL does work.

GOD BLESS

Even for someone coming off a pregnancy, isn't several inches (no matter how you total it/where they are) and 15 pounds in less than a month a bit much? What about her diet? Breast feeding? I would think she needs some oversight in that area.
