Arrow Moveing from London, England to Portland, Oragan (any advice?)

Hi guy's,
I'm new to this forum and plan to contrabute a lot in the future. I will be starting the process of leaving my UK life and my clients behind for a new life in the US in the months to come. I plan to rebuild my Personal Training client base when I get there, but first would like to work for a gym as a Trainer/Instructor for a while to adjust to the US mindset. If anyone has any advice it's most welcome, there are a few questions I have in perticular;

Which gym chains are good to work for as far as quality, education and beifits are concerned?

The qualifacations I have are not well known in the US as far as I can tell (YMCA CYQ) I plan on doing the ACSM Personal Trainer Exam with the 3 day workshop in New York, is this a good choice?

Come back in 10 years and they'll all fit - ye, 10 years should give me enough time. But seriously, any good long established gyms with owners that care about the industry around the Portland area?

P.S. nice chrome plates Michael!
