any of you has experience of training clients online? i think e-mail won't work but then if you can demo through web cam + mic then might well be covering ppl who has problem in accessing to a gym.

I have used an online trainer before and loved it. It was great. As a trainer I had never been on that side before so it was a great learning experience.

I've never been the trainer in that situation but from what I experienced I decided not to offer it as a service myself. I felt very comfortable with the form on all of the exercises, but any new person could really mess themselves up. Even with a video a trainee is not looking it at it the way a trainer would. I think you would have to offer so much in the way of info that it could be overwhelming for someone with little experience.

Offering it as a service for clients that you've already seen might be a good idea though. You could think of them having to do x number of sessions to be "qualified" by you to follow the program correctly.

As a service to my existing clients I am cataloging all of the exercises I use with some key points for them to remember. It's helpful for people that I give homework too.

Good luck.

thanks alot Ryan,

may i know more about how u exactly use online training to train your client??? some kind of online software or u just charge them using skype? i understand that most people would think a Live trainer in a gym should be the best but then flexibility of training time + formality of the program setting and stuff will actually work better if the client keeps track online about all the information and data of their work out plan + progress.

u have any demo or site that worth looking? thanks alot!!

I'm partial to using online tools for training. You can use it both for your long distance clients and your local clients, as well as many MANY other things. Check this out:

You can use this platform for everything; training, nutrition, news letters, scheduling, etc. It is completely customizable and scaleable. Check out some of the sample sites and let me know what you think.

Online training is a growing trend. There are a few options available that contain exercise libraries and other tools. Evaluate all of them, and choose the one with the best track record.

Your site looks very interesting. I can see how Wii technology will in the future be fully integrated with web services like online training. Can you imagine! Would be amazing. They are already using it in some schools where kids play wii-style video games that are actually just workouts cleverly disguised as a "game".
