I've heard from a few trainers (a couple local ones and a few online) that car window advertising is pretty effective.
I found a company locally but I'm not sure I want a semi-permanent sticker on the car. Do any of you know of a company that makes a custom insert for a window that is removable?
I used to have my business name and website plastered all over my car. It did get some attention. The only drawback is if you (like me) are a somewhat aggressive driver. Talk about making a bad impression on your business!
I just went to a local sign shop and had them make window stickers that were made of reflective tape. It came right off when I sold my Jeep very easily.
I'm not an aggressive driver, but my girlfriend and I take roadtrips frequently. It will be nice to feel like I really am leaving work behind for a few days. Not to mention wanting to be inconspicuous at times.
Asking for either "static" or "cling" (or static cling, I guess) basically gets you what you're looking for, google brings up plenty of places that have that sort of thing, and you can ask if your local peeps can do it or know of a place that does.
It apparently has that effect on people. Sorry about that.
A former coworker of mine went out and got an Element and put his company logo and info all over it. Then he went out of his way to park it in high traffic areas near main shopping spots. He said he got a lot of business from people seeing his vehicle around town. He also got a lot of parking tickets for leaving it all day in 2hr metered spots. He said he just considered paying the tickets to be advertising cost.
I have a car window video system that will blow away every other type of window advertising. Moving ads in your car rear window, that you can control and turn off when you don't want to advertise. This is brand new and really cool. Let me know if you're interested.

Not really my thing. Thanks for the tip though.
If any one has any tips on the static window decal let me know.
well, I'm thinking there's a better way to rephrase line 2.
Maybe something more like "your home or gym" or "outside, your home, in gym" something like that. Maybe even "we make housecalls" and not worry about the "out" part figuring most people get that you could train at a gym.
What are you trying to really say there?
In as few words as possible I want to let people know that I can train them in their home but I also have access to some gyms.
I wonder too if I shouldn't specifically mention weight loss? I was reading an article by Jim Labadie (I know, I know...) saying that one of the number one marketing mistakes of personal trainers is that they don't mention weightloss.
I'd say something more like "home or gym" rather than "in and out" - sounds weird.
well, I guess Fatloss Training is shorter than Personal Training.
could have another line of "lose fat / gain muscle" but, in the end, I think "personal training" or the like outweighs "fatloss"
But then, I'm not a marketer, just a designer. And I think most marketing sucks, but yet people say it works so what do I know?
If you're marketing to newbies, I'm skeptical of the term "fatloss." People want to lose weight, and proposing "fatloss" seems like a trick or technicality. We know it's what they want, but they don't. I would use the terms they are familiar with, especially since they only have a few seconds for it to sink in.
Also, if there's an area name/term that's short and sweet, you might consider that as part of line one. For instance, I live in Orange County, CA. Line one for me might be "OC Personal Training & Weightloss." Not necessarily a city name, since being in the neighboring city could scare them off, too (Oh my that's soooo far. ). But the name of (or term for) the area would seem safer. People are picky, especially starting out. Things have to be easy until you get them.
Make sure the phone number is toll free OR local to the area so it's familiar and they get that you're local. None of those weird mobile only area codes that no one knows. They'll just think you're visiting and not try calling.
The website should be easy to remember, because no one wants to actually call and talk to you, they want to see what you charge and do before they call.

I tend to shy away from any type of flyer advertising. The conversion rate for this is often pretty low (less than 1 percent). There are cheaper and more effective ways to get customers. First start by surveying the clients you currently have.
Here are some sample questions to ask:
1. Tell me a little about yourself
2. What's your favorite part about training?
3. What's the worst part about training?
4. What do you need the most help with?
After asking these questions, compile your list of answers. You should then get a clear picture of your customers needs and wants as well as a breakdown of their age and gender. Take this information and find out exactly where these types of people hang out. If your customer is a male 18-23 years old who works out to look good, you can probably find them at trendy night clubs or lounges. Once you know where they hang out. You can go to the same places and strike up conversations with your "customer." Practice an elevator speech (about 30-60 seconds long) describing what you do. You'll be surprised how many more clients you get this way.

I dont know any companies Personally but i have heard as well that its great for local business. Specially if you drive around alot and park your car in highly visible areas like busy parking lots or on streets. I know there are magnetic signs as well you can pu ton doors and such. Many painters and construction companies do that cause its cheaper and not permanent.
Better than stickers, you should consider "wraps." I have a friend who has a company locally that does wraps with pretty elaborate, high-end graphics. That would certainly get some attention.
