Default Personal Training Directory Websites & Legal Documents

Hi, I just recently got my ACE and Cooper-CPT certifications and want to work independently for a few months before I work for a gym. Has anyone been successful with these "Hire a personal trainer" websites? If so, which ones?

On another note, I don't really feel like paying $800 for a lawyer to draft up my legal documents, and I found two websites that cater to fitness professionals, but one only covers liability. The other is, and sorry if I can't post websites, The Critical Forms Every Personal Trainer and Fitness Professional MUST Have! Does this look credible? I'm in Texas and I know state laws differ, so that's why I'm a little skeptical. Thanks! -matt

Yeah there's a great one, it's called Google. Honestly I've tried many of those 'hire a trainer' sites along time ago and got ZERO response. Just look at their alexa rank, usually it's so high you can tell no one visits the site except the site owner.

Try searching in Yahoo and Google for "personal trainer your city" (like: personal trainer miami ) If those sites come up above the fold on page one then they might be a good idea to join so you can piggyback on their rankings. ( if the price is decent)

But usually they're totally useless. Now if the cost is low ( or free) and the links pass PR ( meaning they aren't no follow links or java) then it might be worth it just for the extra juice pointing to your site. But I doubt I'd pay more than $25 or $50 a year tops.

If they're free, what the hell, it can't hurt so go for it

I'd focus on organic search, google and yahoo ppc, good IYP's like citysearch and maybe some craiglist.

Most of those "personal trainer" directories are a waste of time

My two cents
