Default What are you target groups?

Just wondering who everyone is targeting in their bootcamps. Im trying to get teachers but its always good to hear other ideas.

You should approach the district about coming to the school. I have a friend who taught kickboxing and made pretty good $$.

This is actually a really good idea. You could do like a trial session during their orientation weeks as kind of like a "get heathy" thing as well as a team building thing for them...Then again, you don't want to give the milk away for free.

Yeah Ive been contacting the Principles and/or staff development teachers at individual schools but that hasnt been so hot.

My next plan is to go after the PTAs and try to set up a fundraiser with them. Basically set up a bootcamp with rates for PTA members and non-members and offer like a 10% donation for everyone who completes a camp. That way people wanting in on the PTA would join the PTA to get a discount rate and pay PTA dues while the PTA gets 10% per person who completes it. So say you have camp at $200 for 5wks 3x a week and you have 40 people, thats $800 for them per camp and $7200 for me.

That makes more money than they probably make in most of their fundraisers (I have no idea what an average PTA budget) but it also helps the schools themselves. So we'll see how that goes.

But anyway, whats everyone else up as far as targeting their groups?

That's a great demographic to target, but in addition to the "get healthy" thing, really push the "relieve stress" aspect, too. Teachers will glom onto that much more readily than just the "get healthy" tag.

GQ:

As I mentioned yesterday in that other thread, once I start training again, I am going to try to target students and (high school) student-athletes. I think it will be a fun population to work with and a group that IMHO gets neglected because their coach has taught them how to bench press at some point...I know from experience that in HS the only team that got ANY attention to their lifting was the football team.

In my area there is tons of potential coming out of HS, and I think training these kids would help them standout even more.
