The NSCA-CPT is such a general test that, in my opinion, you don't need any specialized information from more in-depth texts. I was actually very surprised at how general most of the information was.
To the best of my recollection there were about 10 to 20 questions from each major section of the book. I also don't remember there being many anatomy and physiology based questions.
Reading through the Essentials of Personal Training combined with general knowledge of fitness and health should more than suffice when taking the test. Just my opinion.
