Default Want to become an editor/writer for a new fitness, health, and nutrition website?

I am looking for part-time editors and writers for an online publication that I am launching in the near future. If you have solid writing skills and are passionate about fitness, nutrition and health - then I encourage you to email me ASAP(structure8998@gmail.com).

Journalistic experience and relevant degrees (i.e. - english, journalism, exercise science, nutrition, etc.), certifications (i.e. - personal training, registered dietitian) is preferred , but not required.

Again, if you have an interest, would like to apply, and/or just want more information – please email me at: structure8998@gmail.com

Please include your contact information and briefly indicate: the specific topics that most interest you, a brief explanation of why and in what capacity you want to join my team and your relevant background (if applicable).

Thanks!

Can you give us a little background on yourself and your organization?
What is this online publication that you're launching (if you can release that information)?
Who are you, besides "pre23", and what is it about your publication that makes it a good opportunity for us?

I appreciate your concerns and questions Matt. However, in an effort to not engage in self-promotion for the new, online publication (or in at least doing my best to avoid such types of comments on this forum that could direct people away from here), I can not share the name of the publication on the message boards. However, if you are seriously interested in trying become a writer or editor, then shoot me an email and we can discuss things in more detail.

However, what i can tell you, is that the soon-to-be-launched publication can offer a significant amount and wide variety of opportunities. Here are a few of the most appealing reasons why my publication and these positions will be of such interest to many of you:
  • Reach and better the lives of 100,000's of thousands of readers around the world
  • I assume that you are as interested and passionate about fitness/health/etc as I am, and therefore you will be afforded the chance to finally say (as I now do) that you actually love your work (even if it is only part-time work)
  • Freedom to write and learn about the topics you are most intrigued by /knowledgeable of / interest in
  • Ability to have your work published on the new publication, as well as, some of our other, more established publications; all of which will translate into some really unique and impressive additions to your resume (esp. if you have aspirations of really pursuing a full-time and long-term career as a writer on these topics).
  • Use/enjoy the newest products/gear/apparel/books/et c from all of the major health, fitness and nutrition companies (often before they are released to the general public). You'll be paid to review them and then, generally, and then can generally, if you would like to, keep the items (some exceptions apply, especially if the product you are testing is extremelyyy expensive, but for the most part you will not have to return them - regardless of how positive or negative your review is ... All we ask is that you offer an honest opinion so our readers can improve their performances, reach their goals, and make wiser purchases for their particular purposes
  • Interview many of the most prominent fitness and health experts/celebrities/authors, athletes, corp execs in the relevant industries, etc.
  • Flexibility: You can edit/write from where you are located in the world and you are free to write/edit/research at whatever time of day/night that you prefer regardless of whether that is first thing in the morning, smack in the middle of the afternoon or even 4am if that is when your work best (of course, you still need to be consistent and dependable, but if, , for example, you are a writer that is does two articles per week - as long as you are writing and submitting the two, high-quality, informative and enthusiastic articles on the regular days we agree on - then I am completely unconcerned with when you are actually sitting in front of your computer working on them).
I hope that I was able to at least partially address your questions/concerns. I also apologize for not being able to offer more information and be more forthcoming in this setting. However, I do hope that you can respect my preference to not promote my site/org. by name on the boards (as per the essentially universal components of discussion board user agreements); just as I want my readers to follow such guidelines when they are engaged with other readers on my own publications.

Anyways, if you are think you would be are interested and would be a good addition to my team, then definitely email me and I look forward to speaking with you. If this is not for you, for whatever reason, then I apologize for wasting your time and wish you the best of luck.

I moved this to the "fitness biz" sub-forum as I believe you will get more nibbles that way.
