Default USANA

Anyone familar with these products or business opportunities? A couple of others here at my job wanted me to get in on it with them, as they are already doing it. Looks like one of those networking thingys, but these guys swear by it.

Anyone?

CHeck out the website...if there is one...chances are you can just be a customer and not partatke in the opportunity. I'm not sure of the product quality or pricing...rule of thumb is if you would use them or pay that much for them why would you try and sell them.

As for the network "thingy" it's probably a referal based marketing system...it's word of mouth instead of mainstream advertising.

I've looked into USANA. A guy at my gym was trying to work me into that. The products generally seem ok, but the network marketing situation is kind of tough. They require a reasonably high buy-in, plus a monthly purchase of about $100. Their commission isn't that great, so you'll need to sell like hell in order to balance that out early on. Like all network marketing companies it is based on you signing up people below you (in your "downline") to sell for you.

If you just sell to your clients as end users, then you'll need a fair amount to turn a reasonable income. If you recruit a downline then you'll need to make sure they sell (or you don't get paid, duh) plus you'll have to be hitting people up for that which they'll hate.

My concern with network marketing companies like that is that the entire focus becomes on creating a downline. That's cool. However, eventually, somewhere along the line, someone is actually going to have to buy some vitamins.

I don't think they're a bad company or even a bad program. I just think that a lot of people aren't ready for what it takes to be successful with that model, plus have the patience to wait the year or more for it to really build up enough steam.

This is really good info. I was quoted 3 different packages. One was around $300-400, one was $800 or so, and the one they recommend and say everyone gets , is the premium package that runs $1,250. Then you basically get a box of products and you can either sell them on a website (that they supply, even though its not the best put together), or you can use them yourself, etc. Then, you are supposed to get 2 other people involved, and then they get 2 people, and so on. Also, she said its around $200/month to keep the business going (by purchasing more products)

The lady did tell me its not a 'get rich quick overnight' thing, and its more about residual income that will accumulate years later (3-5 was her quote) and that I should get my 'spot' more sooner than later. Im just trying to figure out if it will be worth it for me to drop $1,250, and if its really a good business opportunity...or if Im going to lose out because its some BS, or that I wont have enough time to make it work. I really do not care at all for the networking thing (set up this way or like Amway), but a few people at my job are doing it, which is what struck my interest.
