Default OPT for a fitness instructor

Hello Leigh,
Ive decided to give this OPT thing a try again! Im currently on my diet break and am ready for something different. I find that alot of the programs I try dont work well with my teaching schedule, esp if there are weeks that limit cardio.

I teach spinning classes about 4 times a week. Id like to do OPT. Can I do it? I know there are recovery weeks, but I wont be able to take time off from teaching. Its my job. Is there anything special I can do during these weeks?
OR should I just not do the diet at all?

Thanks!

I thought you were rocking RFL? Or was it UD2.0?

What about just monitoring your intake and keeping your exercise at a reasonable level?

Interesting thought- do fitness instructors consider their classes that they teach as "NEAT" since it is part of your regular work day? Hmm...

depends on intensity, degree to which you participate, etc. Short answer - no, because it is conscious activity in a gym setting.

It was UD2. The problem as usual, my classes interfere with the workouts and I dont get enough recovery time.

Your advice is good, and it helped me get to where I am now. Its trying to break this stalling point (set point) that always messes with me. Perhaps after the diet break, things will start moving again.

If this is a true diet break (eating at maintenance or +) with less exercise, then that is likely the case.

I decided to go back to carb cycling that helped me lose weight the first time. Seems to work best with my flucuating activity levels. Joined the women's challenge and wll be starting a new log
