Smile Leigh - Mike's bloodwork results

Holy hell, was pleasantly surprised when the endo went over the labs with me on Friday. The water retention had me worried about kidney problems but the doc says they could not be in better shape. whew!

He seems to think my serum sodium is a little high (although within reference range) which could be an indicator of stress or slower adrenal function, so I have some DHEA for a little support.

He's a real masochist about fasting glucose though, thought mine was high having been tested at 1pm after a 15 hour fast.

Got a prescription for 32.5mg of Westhroid, 1 time per day...

... then he called me "an easy fix" and kicked my ass out the door (after I paid the bill)

Quick question: I am assuming what is listed is the only thyroid panel done?

Yes, there were no other thyroid panels or other hormone panels, for that matter.

He didn't want to go too overboard with tests at first in case a less aggressive approach works fine, and he'll do more testing pending results. Plus it's the first time I've ever seen him so we're just getting our bearings.

I do notice some changes since starting the westhroid and DHEA though.

No longer compelled to get cracked-out on 6 cups of coffee in the morning, 2 is just fine, but don't feel the need for any at all.

No more "Ah - F-it!!" cutting loose moments... which for me only amounted to a coke and small bag of chips from the vending machine at work, in addition to my salad at lunch.. but still... it's 600 calories I don't have to worry about now.

Freakin' gassy as hell when I eat veggies now - never had a problem before... but it might be the xylitol I started using in the coffee after getting the meds.
