Default Metabolic Repair - Level 1??

After taking the quiz amazingly I'm a level 1.

In the book she says to 'go to the final stage of rest'. Does this mean go to Stage 1 - week 2 of rest or the final stage of the REPAIR? Or the very last week before MetaBurn?

It's weird because I have 11 A's, 3 B's, and 8 C's. So I feel like I'm on the side closer to level 2. But regardless, I am definitely taking a break from training for two weeks anyway. I went off birth control a year ago and had my period only a couple of times this year. I've almost never taken more than a couple of days off from working out. I definitely need it.

Good question, the wording is a bit confusing. I am leaning towards thinking it is that you do 2 weeks of "rest" (the first two weeks) and then go straight to the Metaburn program skipping all the other stages and the big eating stage? Maybe PM Leigh to find out for sure. Rest periods are important. I take 5-7 days off every few months and find it helpful.

Has your period normalized now? I went off BCP in January and have only had 3 periods so far and they were not "normal" i.e. very light, only lasting a few days.

That would make sense. I was going to take two weeks off anyway. I don't want to lose that much weight, like 5 lbs.

After reading metabolic repair i have definitely realized the importance of rest. I know my body needs it and I'm glad I'm finally doing it.

And NO my period has not come back. But I'm only like 4 days into my rest. I got it a few times over the past year and then nothing for at least 3 months. I have been cutting my calories so I upped those. Now I'm taking a break from working out. I really hope it comes back soon.

I have also cut out dairy from my diet because my skin completely broke out. really bad. I went to a dermatologist and now I'm on medicine. So I feel like the whole point of getting off medicine (BC) didnt' work out too well. Hopefully my skin will get back on track soon so I can get off the meds. I feel like my hormones are just out of control right now. I wish I never would have gone on birth control. I might need to see a specialist.

Can you go back on them or did you stop for medical reasons? My skin was MUCH better on BCP, it has been freaky lately. I went off because I turned 40 this year and while my OBGYN said I could stay on till menopause I was just a leary of the increased risks. I was also having a terrible time losing weight (even though I had no BCP related weight gain the 10 yrs on the pill) As soon as I stopped BCP I started losing weight. Very strange but I have heard from other 40-somethings who also had trouble with weight loss while on the pill at an older age so who knows.

Have you had your estrogen/progesteron/LH/FSH etc levels checked? Mine are normal which puzzles the doctor as to why I am not getting normal periods. I have been in a deficit for the last 8 months so wonder if that is a factor. Plenty of rest, no heavy exercise etc.

I don't want to be on birth control. I did some research and just decided I didn't want pills messing with my body / hormones anymore. I knew it would be a tough adjustment but I thought after a year I would be adjusted. I guess I'm just surprised. Hopefully everything will be back on track.

As for losing weight after stopping - I immediately went to Mexico and lived in a hotel for 6 months. Soooo I definitely gained weight. 10 lbs to be exact. I don't know how I would have reacted if I was tracking my calories and eating better.

I have never had my levels checked. I should really get them checked. I'm moving around every 6 months and I'm almost to the end of this 6 month cycle so I wanted to wait till I was somewhere long enough to have multiple doctor's appointments if needed. I probably shouldnt' put it off though.

Maybe if you upped your calories you would get your period back. I haven't yet BUT upping them has not caused me to gain weight. I'm actually the lowest I've been in a while. Since I"m eating more and not exercising I'm pretty surprised.

Thanks for your advice!
