Default Calories in Sugar free syrups

I have a dumb question I am hoping somebody can answer.... I know Splenda has calories. I use the sugar free syrups like DaVinci and Toroni in my protein shakes and cottage cheese to add extra flavor. They say there are no calories but again I am wondering if that is true. I don't use tons but like Splenda it can add up so I wondering??? Their website gives no information. Thanks for the help.

try nutritiondata.com and see if they have the info. I don't know exactly what you're talking about product-wise, but they do have a lot of stuff and are pretty reliable and you may find it or something similar. You prolly will at least find info for a sugar free syrup or sauce or flavouring and be able to extrapolate.

Look at the serving size that's supposed to have zero calories. That serving size should have less than 5 calories (that's the legal requirement). So, if you want to be safe and/or use a lot of it, I'd count your serving as 5 calories.

Splenda has calories because it has maltodextrin to give it fluffiness for measuring. It is 100kcal/cup, vs 800 for table sugar.

Syrups *usually* have zero calories as they claim because they need no fluffiness - the sucralose is just mixed into the liquid straight up. If any calories are present it could be from gums used to give it more syrupy mouthfeel, but it is mostly likely still negligible. This is most applicable to things like Torani and DaVinci sugar free coffee syrups, possibly less so for fake pancake syrup.

YMMV.

The syrups are made with liquid sucralose. Check out the Sweetzfree website-liquid sucralose with no carbs or calories because it's a liquid with no fillers. Great product-luv it.
