Default FLTS for vegetarians?

I've been thinking about buying fat loss troubleshoot, but I'm a vegetarian, so I want to make sure it would work for me. I'd hate to pay that much money only to have it tell me I should eat chicken at every meal or something!

I recently bought the book and have read through most of it now. I have not read through the meal plan book though. But from what I've read, there isn't any restrictions on specific foods.

Perhaps someone will pipe in and comment if there are veggie options, but I think like any diet, it's getting some good proteins in. If you eat eggs then you have no problem at all. I eat lots of soy products as I don't eat any dairy, and often soy is the primary protein I eat. I also eat lots of nuts/seeds.

I will admit though, that I'm not concerned about building muscle, and her program is about keeping the muscle we have with good nutrition and easy/moderate exercise. The primary goal is to lose fat without busting your body.

I do plan on reading through the meal plan book this weekend, but I don't like to follow plans, I tend to rebel, so I'm better with just the guidelines.

If she doesn't comment here, you could always email her and ask how it is for a vegetarian, or scour her past posts on the topic.

Anybody can use FLTS--vegetarians, vegans, meat eaters--whatever. Leigh doesn't require specific foods in FLTS; rather she tells you which macros to cover. Does that make sense? This topic has been discussed here before, so you might do a search in this forum (or just read through a couple of pages of threads) to see what was said. I believe that Aoife is vegetarian (or vegan--I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure she has a modified diet in some form), and she's used Leigh's products. Leigh does offer some meal suggestions in FLTS, but there's no reason you can't modify the suggestions as long as you're following the macros.

And no, Leigh won't tell you that you have to eat chicken at every meal.

I'd definitely check out her books. You'll learn a lot! Annette is right, too; if you have any questions, just shoot Leigh an email or a PM to make sure that she sees it, and I'm sure she'll do her best to answer it as soon as possible. (Though she's not always around on the weekends, so if you do that today, keep that in mind. )

Ok, it took me a while, but I found the thread I was thinking of.

Vegan/vegetarian

There's also a link in my first post in that thread to a post where Leigh answers some general questions about FLTS/MRM.

Hope that helps!

I'm vegan and had no issues. I did supplement with protein powders (hemp and others) for a few weeks, but I just don't find protein as satiating as others, so I don't follow the very high protein recommendations anymore. I do enjoy the fat recommendations, though.

Nope, not a problem. Just plan accordingly… usually easiest by getting your protein up to where it should be, and see where that leaves you fat and carb -wise… then add in carb and fat till your macros are where they should be.
