Default Calculating BMR from GWF

Do you think it's legit to calculate one's BMR from the GWF?

I've been trying it with my sleep rates from midnight to 6 am. Using those numbers I vary from a low of 1512 to a high of 1668.

Using formulas (I don't know the name, standard ones Leigh gives us in her book) gives me 1785.

Or is night sleep too low as it accounts for nothing else?

I was wondering if I can track each night my "supposed" BMR and possibly see it drop over time.

The easiest way to do it, if you wanted to utilize the GWF for determining BMR, is to take your average resting number (1.0 or whatever) and times that by 60 and then times by 24.

So if resting average is 1.0.

1.0x60 is 60

60x24=1440. 1440 is your resting metabolic rate as determined by GWF readings.

Thanks Leigh. That number for me appears to be 1.1 so a total of 1584 cals.

I'm in the process of reading your book. I've enjoyed listening to it while I walk in the morning, and will continue with the podcasts.

the day of my op when I was in bed all day GWF had me burning 1348 cals (of course i wasn't wearing it furing the three hours under general anaesthetic but cunted that as rest )

If I take my average rest time per min it would be 0.95 x 60 mins x 24hrs =1368.

all in all seems pretty accurate
