Default Would really appreciate some advice!

Hello!

I have been reading some of posts here and you seem to be helping so many people, I would really appreciate if you could help me too!
For the last 7 years I`ve been eating very wrong, without knowledge. And this really messed up my metabolism.
I had anorexia when I was 16-17 (went down to 45 kgs)... In recovery, my nutritionist advised me to eat 1200 calories a day and didnt gain much weight(49 kgs), did fine for 2 years. After that, I started gaining weight from nothing, without changing any habit(58 kgs). Then, I cut calories in order to lose weight and during the last 4 years I was eating 600-800 calories a day, but didnt know that it was wrong(53 kgs). So, this April I decided to search to see if it really was healthy to eat that way and found out that I was in starvation mode. Then I got very worried and started eating more (1200 calories the first week, 1400 calories the next 7 weeks and 1600 calories the next 2 weeks) but I have been gaining weight gradually since then (from 53 kgs, now 58.5). I went to a nutritionis, but she didnt help me at all... I dont know what to do! I am 163 com tall, 23 years old, 58.5kgs now, small frame, walk 40 min-1 hour per day every day and lift weights 5 days a week(1 day arms the other day legs). I dont go to the gym because I live in the country side and there is no gym in my city... So I do everything at home.
Do you have some advice to give me? Do you think I am doing it wrong? I really dont want to gain more weight, my clothes dont fit, I have lots of bloating and my belly is getting big (never had!).
Thank you very much for your time!
Anne.

Highly recommend that you check out Leigh's Metabolic Repair Manual. It pretty much explains everything.

Annebaline.. get yourself a routine - exercise and food. No matter how screwed up you think your metabolism is, you can make it right with time a proper routine.
Read a book, new rules of lifting for women or the metabolic repair manual are fine and will give you a good idea of what you should do. The first book outlines different workouts that you can do at home too.

Dont lose heart and remember that its never too late.

Anne, I'd second the recommendation to check out Leigh's books. I would really avoid New Rules of Lifting if I were you--at least until you get some of the metabolic issues addressed. A program like that will likely tax your system too much (in my opinion--if this is wrong, I'm sure others will chime ine) and it's not a fat loss program per se (though it has been successfully used that way by some).

It sounds to me like you need to educate yourself on the basics of fat loss, etc., and you might have some repair work to do, so I'd look at Leigh's books and really read the material.

A link would be good, right? Leigh Peele's Fat Loss Troubleshoot.

I agree with looking at Leigh's work, and I second Sinead with holding off on New Rules of Lifting for Women until after you get your body straightened out. It does seem like a fabulous program but I personally decided to hold off on it for a while since I'd come off of a period of undereating but still have fat to lose. The book itself it recommends just a small deficit (300 cals) if at all; it's a taxing program and they want you to be fed properly for it. Which makes total sense; it just didn't align with my immediate goals.

Annebaline, Leigh includes several programs in her FLTS package. I'm guessing you're mostly interested in the Metabolic Repair Manual. From what you've listed, it does sound like you'd need to go through that (after reading Fat Loss Troubleshoot itself, of course, since everything else assumes you have knowledge of FLTS).

I'm including the links for the logs of a couple of ladies who are currently going through the R.E.P.A.I.R. program now.

http://forums.jpfitness.com/tr aining-log/38136-amys-metabolic-repair-journey.html

Repair is really possible! Michelle's Log...

Also do a search on JP for "Repair"--there are a couple of finished logs I think you'd find helpful, as well.

Reading their logs may give you a good idea of what you could expect to happen while on R.E.P.A.I.R. R.E.P.A.I.R. itself is 8 weeks. The MetaBurn programs (to be completed only after going through R.E.P.A.I.R.) vary in time according to how much fat you need to lose. You stay in certain stages until you lose enough fat to put you in the next stage, and continue through the stages until you reach your goal. So the time for the MetaBurn programs vary by individuals.

Given that you're getting married in August--and congratulations!--that may not be what you want to hear. But, again, based on what you included in your history, it sounds like you need to go through R.E.P.A.I.R. I think your focus for your wedding should be on feeling healthy and well rather than meeting a certain image.

Leigh really knows her stuff, though! I hope you get her books.
