Default Gowear fit on ebay

Hey everyone,
I started a new thread b/c the Gowear fit thread is too long! I need your help buying one from Ebay. I have no experience with this thing. There are so many variations in price, some seem really cheap. Can you please look below for me and help me pick one out, its a birthday present to myself.

http://shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=Gow..._from=R40&_mdo=

I figured this may help alleviate some worries I have about my metabolism and may motivate me to stay active........I probably will use it on my clients too in the future.
Thanks!!

How can we help? Find one from a seller with good feedback....put in the highest bid you are willing to pay....sit back and wait.

I am the eBay diva!!!
1. How I win: What I do is I save to my watch list, and then I come in to the bidding in the last 5 minutes, and then put in the highest price I want to pay. I usually confirm this bid in the last 2 minutes.
2. Prices of GWFs: I did an advanced search and could see "completed items" to see what price they were going for. $180, $107, $131, $200, ($139 at a buy it now.. this is very good, since you don't have to wait and bid), $108, $123, $179, $122, $105, $132

so probably if you put in $135, there's a good chance you can win, and also that is a good BIN range.

HOWEVER, amazon.com often has sales on the armband and display for
$169 + $30 if you buy them together, and that includes 3 free months subscription.

The cheapest display on ebay went for $60. So on eBay, you'll be paying $130 and $60=$190, but from amazon.com, new you can pay $200 on sale.

So, in conclusion, hahaha (I told you I was an eBay diva), for such a pricy item with technical issues, I doubt I would take the risk to save $20-$40. Or I would be patient and see if I could win one for $120 or less, and be content to not own the display (which I love)... and meanwhile, I'd be checking amazon.com for sales. Ugh, no sale now... and maybe not for rest of summer.

Or, buy it now, not on sale. $200 is only 200 candy bars you're not eating.

good luck winning one on eBay for $125! I know you can do it!

Thanks Etana...but I am confused. Is there an armband and display and I need both? Do you think buying this thing used is risky? Better to buy it brand new on Amazon>?

My rule with ebay is that I will only spend an amount that I'd be willing to throw away if the product didn't work as advertised. I always pick people with good feedback, etc., but for something like this where I'd be spending a decent amount of money, I always go with new. My "throw away" amount is $50--not that I'd likely throw away $50, but I could live with that if the product was crap and the seller not willing to replace it.

You could also check about the seller's return policy--I bought my Polar HRM off of eBay not too long ago. It wasn't used, but I did make sure the the seller would take it back if it didn't work--got an email with the policy, so that would've been something to point to had there been a problem and the seller didn't want to take it back.

I also don't usually spend more than $50 on eBay.
For over $100, I'd want a significant savings.
I bought applecare on eBay for my Mac, but I paid $180 instead of $270 I think.

I just wonder if it's enough of a savings. I'm planning on using my GWF for 2 years: deficit and a year of maintenance. So the cost was worth it to me. I do like my display; very motivating.

Ok so maybe I will just order on Amazon brand new. I plan to use it with future training clients too.

Etana, has this thing been useful to you? Have you found it accurate?

very very very informative. I love it. Yes, it encourages me to move, expecially simple moving that is not exercise, to clean or do more errands. To get up more often.

Yes, I think it is accurate.
