Unhappy Help I think I need a smack upside the head

So this is my second week on the OPT program, it sure is tougher than I thought it would be. I have read several posts about stalling and my question is, at the end of week 1, I lost 4.5LBS, I was also on my period . This week I upped my reps from 10 to 15, tracked my cal, increased water to 1.5 gallons, weighed every gram of food and did my workouts, hopped on the scale and it did not move. Can anyone shed light, is this my reality, I feel like all that work, so cranky and hungry and then nothing?

are you just weighing once a week then? I wouldn't sweat it - I can weigh every day and fluctuate 2-4 pounds up and down over a week - if it so happened that I caught a low day one week and a high day another week it would look like nothing was happening -

hang in there and watch for the trend.

What kind of movement do you expect in a week? This isn't the biggest loser. Your first week you lost water, and now the real fun begins. Sheesh. If you give up after a week, where are you gonna be in three months?

I'll "weigh in"

I am in my 7th week of OPT. I weigh myself every day. I lost the most weight my first and second weeks and since then it's been a lot slower...but, as Leigh talks about it in the FLTS - the overall TREND is that I'm losing. I'm 9 lbs down after starting OPT on March 4th. My clothes are much looser (some don't even fit anymore) and friends and family are noticing. But, yes, it's half a lb up one day then down and sometimes I stay at the same weight for days at a time. This is the first thing that's really worked for me in YEARS -and it's actually fun and doable!

For me, after the 4th week (the rest week where you calories are low and protein intake is really high) is really when I hit my stride and it started becoming second nature. Stick with it and you will be pleased, believe me. I had tried what felt like EVERYTHING until this!

4.5 lbs in one week is a huge amount to lose so I am not surprised you didnt lose any this week. That is what usually happens when people have a big water loss the first week. Just keep at it and like others said above, you will have some weeks you don't lose anything even when following the plan to a T. and then there are the weeks you totally cheat and eat over your calories and lose. The body is not a machine it often does its own thing defying the laws of physics.

There is almost always a two week stall. A week 4-5 stall. A week 8-10 stall. Etc.

It isn't always so linear.
