Leigh, in your Metabolic Repair Manual you mention taking Yohimbe at the end. I am female and just bought some but it was Yohimbe bark extract. Do you recommend that and if so, how much and what for. I read on Polquin's website that Yohimbe can help females lose fat on butt and hips...thanks
Well, I have been taken it in the past and didn't have any bad reactions to it...some people do, tho. I think it depends on how it is manufactured also, bark extract seems a bit iffy.
Yohimbine HCL is generally a better choice since it's industry-grade and tends to be free of some of the wonky alkalines that can be present in the herbal form. The herbal form will still work.
And yes, it can help w/ stubborn fat due to some chemical crap I'm too lazy to type out. Of course this presumes it's legitimately stubborn fat, not just a case of holding fat all over. It'll still help out, but the best effect is when you're getting somewhat lean and notice trouble-spots that don't seem to be changing.
Be aware that Y is blunted by even small amounts of insulin, so you want to take it separately from meals. Otherwise it doesn't have much effect.
A good option would be to wake up, take your dose along w/ some caffeine, go do cardio for 30-60 minutes (low intensity), then eat later on.

Why do you say low intensity cardio? Does this herb make your heart race?
I looked it up this weekend and it seems the extract is less favored. Figures that is what I bought! Oh well! I have not gotten to the point where I'm ready to use it anyone. Thanks for the feedback on how to use it though!
Any side effects such as acne or hair growth?

Fat burning has to do with two factors: getting triglycerides out of fat cells and then burning up said triglycerides.
yohimbine helps with the former. since LI cardio tends to actively burn up circulating triglycerides, it tends to pair well with conditions that are actively releasing them from fat cells (ie, fasted cardio + yohimbine).

so could one take this before going for a walk on an empty stomach? Is there a certain heart rate recommendation. Low intensity can be anywhere from 55%-75% of MHR
ok i ordered the yohimbine hci from 1fast400. took 10mg yesterday spaced apart.... took one...nothing.. then another, then nothing and so on until i reached 10 within the hour... nothing.
this morning, i woke up and took my straight 10mg and did 30 min cardio with my coffee. nothing......
should i up it? my body weight is 108. or do some people still see results but not see the effects?
obviously you guys didnt understand my question. most people have EFFECTS such as heart rate, energy, jitters......i had NOTHING. so, i dont know if I need to update my dosage or what?
the recommended is what I took both days and felt nothing different even with the 30 cardio and coffee.
i dont want to take it like this and no even have it do anything and just waste the bottle because im not taking the recommended. but i dont want to increase the dosage if there is no point.
I take Twinlab Yohimbe Fuel and it really jacks me up. I can only take one. Tried upping to two capsules and it wigged me out. I have noticed that it is a bad idea to drink caffeine along with yohimbe. Really makes me jittery.
Interestingly, I'm generally pretty chemically insensitive, so I was a bit surprised that the regular dosage was so effective. It also suppresses my appetite big time.
