Default Still seem to be stuck, please help

Hello again Leigh and others, I am still not really making progress so would value your input.

For the last six weeks I have been following advice here. I did two weeks at 1200 cals and just walking and the past 4 weeks I have added back in light wts2-3 x per week, with just walking 1-2 hours per day and cals have been eating 1300-1600 cals per day (with a daily average of 1457, have zizagged cals). The past three weeks I have been using a GWF and this has me averaging around 2100 cals per day, so I have had a deficit of around 600 cals per day. I am eating macros of 33/33/33. During the six weeks twice my weight has gone down by 4 pounds but each time has gone back up again and I have a net loss of 1.1 pounds during the 6 weeks. I know the GWF is just a tool and not totally accurate. Its has blown my mind away about NEAT

OK 1 pound in 6 weeks just seems unreal to me. The only other thing I can add is that I will have an isotope test in 2 weeks to see if the lumps found on my thyroid are a problem. I am trying to be patient and follow advice, but surely I could hope for 0.5 pounds a week fat loss not 0.15?? I am still up 8 pounds from my Pre Metrepair weight of Nov 11th and just want to at least get back there (though originally I wanted to get lower, I have lost hope of that now).

I think between 19 and 20%, you can't tell at all from my avatar I hold all my axcess fat in hips, thighs, knees, calves but low enough I understand if I can only lose 0.5 pound a week, but that seems a reasonable goal to me?? I think pre Metrepair when I had just run the marathon, I was around 16%BF.

Like I have said before in other thread, the calculations of everything is best guess. From the calories you burn to the food you take in. Since you aren't in an extreme deficit you aren't going to seen massive water drops. You could go a month and only see the scale move a pound.

You obviously thought you were burning more calories than you were before, i would wager with metarepair you ate more over than you likely should have for your needs, no big deal, but you likely gained a little fat from that.

You are losing, you are lean as it is. 600 calorie deficit could easy be 400 give or take food and movement calculations. In short, I think you are over anazlying it. If you want faster results, bounce with more extremes. Just make sure the low is low enough and the highs are high enough.

If concerned about thyroid or whatever go to an endo and make sure to cover all angles.

Also I hope that didn't come out cold. I know you are frustrated, but that is really the best answer I can give. I think you ARE being a bit inpatient with the scale. The scale doesn't always work in the back/forward motion you want or expect. Overtime, is change happening in a negative or positive way? That is the quesiton to ask, adjust based on the answer.

I can attest to the scale sometimes taking a long time to show changes. It took me 4-5 weeks of being 100% compliant to the deficit and then I started losing and have been seeing consistent losses.

thanks, I can see where my 600 cal deficit could only be 400 and that can influence. I think I will assume a 10% exageration in cals. I think if Icould see 1-2 pounds drop at the end of a month I would be happy but scale keeps bouncing back up to highest weight, very weird, but I will continue and creat a greater deficit zizagging more and cycling carbs I think. I really don't know how many cals I was burning during my marathon training and I bgan metrepair at 1270 cals which may have been too high. I have an isotope test in two weeks to check if the lumps are malignant.

You didn't come across cold, Leigh yes I am impatient, but despite the scale not moving I am feeling a little leaner

Quick weekly update

Weekly Stats
GWF Deficit = 4665

7 Day Averages
Wt 61.5kg (61.9kg)
BF 19.9% (18.6%)

NB last weeks data in brackets.
so a pound down from last week but still a pound up from two weeks ago and as usual BF all over the place, but I don't take this too seriously . This gives me a loss of 2.2 pounds in 7 weeks.

I put on the 9 pounds in 11 weeks so I guess losing it is going to take 2-3 times longer.

A month later and a quick update. For the past 7 weeks my 7 day averages have varied between 61 and 61.5kg. For the past three weeks I have tried a more extreme zig zag of carbs/cals incorporating a one refeed day and just below maintenance of high carbs. Apart for the odd hike, snowshoeing etc I am walking and lifiting wts for weight loss. My GWF has me at 4500-5000+ weekly deficit. i am weighing everything.

From the GWF thread I see that sleep is a problem but that is a hard one to solve and my BIGGEST stress at the moment is not being to lose the fat I put on on metrepair. I still can't get into several pairs of trousers.

Please, please can anyone give me some tips. I am sure sleep is aggravating things but I doubt that its preventing completely the weight loss in such a deficit. This is week 12 of my cut and it is hard to keep going with so little success when one is very compliant? It took 11 weeks to put on the 9 pounds. Is it normal to need to take maybe 40+ weeks to lose it?
