Default Gowear Fit PROBLEMS

I'm beginning a separate thread for technical problems with our new, expensive Gowear Fit

I hope this is just a small blip and not a problem with my device, as I have only had it a month. Battery is completely charged, so I can't think of what else could be going on.

Well, I finally at 2am got mine to sync, but it showed no data. I assumed it was because the battery had run down. I charged it for 3 hours and slept with the armband on. The display shows 164 steps while sleeping, a sign that it was working. It uploaded fine at 10:30am today, BUT online showed 0 sleep and 0 steps. Online did show the calories for today, (matching the armband), but that was just the basic 60cal/min sleep calories that it defaults to when flatline.

Too bad it's the weekend and I can't call them.
I did remember that I took my partner to have an MRI yesterday and sat in the waiting room, wonder if that killed my GWF.

Interesting (unhappy) to hear others having problems. I really liked my GWF. I'm glad I bought it from Amazon.com; they're good at returns.

Very unhappy GWF user.
This product is too expensive to break within first month.

Good idea, Etana. Mine, too just shows 0 steps...although yesterday it said that I was sleeping the entire day. Grrrr! I am very frustrated and cannot think of what could have caused this. Mine showed activity until 2:00 pm Friday (CET) but then it said I was sleeping and that was that. My battery is charged. I am going to call them tomorrow as well. Like you, I am disapointed. I really, really liked my little GWF. I hope this is just a temporary bug and will work itself out. I also ordered it from amazon, so at least a return is possible. *sigh* Keep us posted on what happens with yours!

When mine went south, I thought it was my PC/Java/etc. I loaded the software/drivers on my laptop, same problem. I charged it overnight, lights all green, tone still played, no upload. I even re-registered it on the activity manager. No dice. Returned it to Amazon, got a new one, plugged it in and all worked fine. I hadn't worn it into an MRI or the shower or done anything unusual.

It's a device that is MEANT to be worn 24/7 so I certainly hope most are sturdier than these few and this new one will keep working for me.

I got an email from GoWear Fit today with a Firmware upgrade attachment, which I ran. I believe it has fixed the problem, as I did see some activity in the past hour when I uploaded online.

I'll keep you in touch with if mine is now working.
I believe when you go to upload, you will see instructions to install your firmware update. You may or may not lose some data from today.

I lost about 7-10 days of data that never uploaded. But I would be thrilled if it is now working correctly

Here are my latest concerns/problems that I wrote to them about:
______________________________ _____________
1. Armband different than display
I just uploaded data. (The firmware upgrade fixed my server problem, thanks!)...
My activity manager says 1804 cal; display says1596 cal;
My activity manager says 0:58hr moderate activity; display says 0:23hr;
My activity manager says 5867 steps; display says 5880;

So the steps are correct, but the display shows 50% less than what the activity mgr shows in activity and 12% lower in the calories....

I know there is a small difference because display only syncs once a minute. But these numbers are way off: what is the problem/solution here?
______________________________ _____
2. I have to press armband 5 or more times to sync display
Sometimes the display syncs when I press the armband once; manytimes I have to press armband 5 or more times to sync display. What is the problem/solution here?

thanks, Etana
a bit too many problems after only 3 weeks owning this

______________________________ _________
Anyone else having either of these issues?

thanks,

I'm new here, and just received my Gowear Fit yesterday, and I'm ALREADY having the same problems. My display is off by almost 200 cal. from the activity manager. It was perfect before I plugged in my the armband the 2nd time around, now the calories, steps, etc are way off.

Default Uploading issues..

For the past, 2 days or so, I haven't been able to upload my GWF. Also, I'm not sure if it's charging because none of the buttons blink when I plug it in. It is still syncing with my display, so it is recording data. I've e-mailed them but if anyone else has any solutions..

Has anyone installed the upload driver on more than one computer? Curious if doing this would mess up my data, because I do have another computer I could try it on..

I upload my data from multiple computers, so that should not be a problem. Have you tried using a different USB port on the computer you are uploading, it could be the PC not the GoWear that isn't working right. Could also be the cable, hope you get it workin again though.

Was able to upload today after a few tries, still not sure what is causing its finicky-ness though.

I had the same problem this morning, I even tried a different computer to upload from. I think I will try to charge mine overnight and then re-try tomorrow morning. Anyone else having problems?

It's been running slow for the DL to the website, but it eventually has worked for me.

When I had issues with my bodybugg, they did a firmware upgrade. It deleted all my data, but it stopped being finicky with uploads after that. Maybe you need a firmware upgrade (can be done online, I believe, if you talk to (or email) their techs).

Well I let mine charge overnight and it uploaded without any problems this morning (knock on wood). Maybe I thought I had been charging it and it wasn't really charging enough?!

Yeah mine was showing that it had more charge when I plugged it in than it actually did; showed a full battery but died on my arm that day, so I suspect that might be your problem, too.

Whoops, didn't realize this thread existed. Xposting from the major GWF thread since I guess this is more appropriate here.

Quote:
So my GWF appears to have fried itself after a failed attempt to upgrade the firmware this morning. First its green lights never turned off despite being disconnected from the USB, and then it couldn't detect that it was on my arm. Finally got the lights to turn off by holding down the armband button, but it's still unresponsive. I've gotten error messages on 3 computers when trying to upload data and upgrade the firmware, saying it's not in a USB port. And it still can't detect being placed on my arm.

Waiting to hear back from customer support.
Reading through the thread it sounds like if I could just get the firmware to install, I'd probably be good to go. But seeing as the software can't even detect it when my GWF is plugged into the USB (not an issue w/ my computer, as it still registers that there is hardware plugged into the USB, and I highly doubt three computers would have USB problems) I'm at a loss.

Still waiting on customer support. I've had my GWF over three months, but since I committed to the service for one year, I feel like that should count as a "warranty" on my armband.

ETA: I wouldn't think being undercharged is an issue, as I recharge it daily while I'm in the shower. But I guess I can also leave it plugged in for several hours (brought it with me to work to try uploading from work computer) and see if that helps.
