Default "Dietary Supplements"

My last primary care physician (not seeing her now, but not relevant to conversation) prescribed/suggested I could take the "ephedra-free dietary supplement" BioLean and BioLean Free and BioLean Accelerator by Wellness International Network (to boost metabolism and fat loss). I never really took them on a regular basis, because
1. they were to curb hunger, and I wasn't hungry, (but I do get a "3-o'clock I want chocolate, let me go HUNT for some chocolate" feeling)
2. They were to boost energy, but my energy was good
3. They were to accelerate metabolism and fat-loss but I never gave them a regular over time effort.

Have any of you heard of this particular product, and have opinions?
Leigh, should/could I add this to my vitamins etc in REPAIR at any stage?

4 tablets of BioLean Free:

Niacin 40mg 200%
Vitamin B5 15mg
Chromium chelavite chloride 500mcg
Potassium 100mg

Biotanical Extracts 2972mg
Green tea leaf extract
Yerba Mate leaf extract
Korean ginseng root extract
Uva ursi leaf
Guarana seed
Quebaracho bark extract

Non-irradiated pure herbs and Thermogenic Spices 1440mg
Gotu kola leaf
Ceylon cinnamon bark
Chinese horseradish root
Jamaican ginger root
Turmeric rhizome
Nigerian cayenne pepper (fruit)
English mustard seed
Ho shou wu root
Ginkgo biloba leaf

L-Tyrosine 500mg
L-Methionine 100mmg
Vanadium 400mg

throw it out, or add it to REPAIR, or add it to OPT???

I know the goal is to eat a variety of high quality healthy FOOD; this would be supplemental.
thanks, Etana

The caffeine is by far the most active ingredient, especially in terms of stated effects 1-3. I'd personally just drink coffee or tea and save your money, if you aren't comfortable with using ephedrine.

I, personally, wouldn't take anything like that. I'd stick to a good quality multi-vitamin instead.

same here. and I would be leary of any doctor pushing (or even offering) that stuff.

Doesn't look like anything in their harmful but I am sure the stuff ain't cheap and if the doctor actually sells them to you (and makes money off of it) then even more skeptical.

REPAIR isn't about fat loss, it is about eating food again. Sure this allow you to lose fat, and there can be fat loss, but it is a targeted and slow re-feed program.

Because of this, using a fat burner on it, doesn't exactly make sense correct?

There are only a few fat burners I would even suggest getting anyway (that not being one of them) and you only COULD need them/use them at a certain point of LOW body fat.

For the other stuff, drink some strong tea.

BioLean:

Thanks for the very specific feedback about what this stuff is composed of; I don't care for them myself.

Goin' out to buy Udo enzymes this week.

Default Fish oil: count the fat?

Do you count the fat in your macros when you take fish oil capsules?

Thanks, Etana
