STS...I've been trying to hang around 2700cals a day..might need to go to 3,000 though. I usually start out with a fairly large breakfast...one of the few ways I can get a lot of cals in. 2 kashi waffles or 2 whole eggs with 2 pc. whole wheat toast, milk with whey protein powder and a cup of fruit. Then I have pre and post workout drinks. Eat fruit, whole grains and lean meat throughout the rest of the day and top it off with muscle milk in skim milk before bed. If I don't eat enough for breakfast I end up almost panicking and think I need a bunch of cals quick (like today) and end up at McD's...yes I know not the best choice by any means, but hey it happens, I'm not gonna lie about it.

You just can NOT beat yourself up for that kinda stuff. Really, besides being overall healthy, exercising for your heart etc... But to be all over yourself for "enjoying a little life"
NO! imo, it just doesnt work. I would loooove to drop some lbs/fat. I do NOT have a flat stomach nor an I wear a bikini and feel proud, non the less, were I to drop dead tomorrow, I would absolutely die happy, knowing that I had a nice honkin peace of pecan pie with a little whip cream....thank you very much.
With all of THAT said, HELP ME LOSE THIS WEIGHT!

Alright that just cracked me up. I enjoy too often, chinese buffets, pizza, desserts. I want to come back in my next life as a chef. I LOVE to cook. Can you imagine what that does to everyone's diet around here? Even my kid is chubby. Every day is a challenge but we're getting better at it. I'm hoping it's teaching her the importance of self control.

Ohhhhhh, well that changes things a bit. chuckle chuckle. Where do you live? My poor family needs a cook because I am so not a cook! How do you manage such nice "numbers" eating like that all the time? If you truly eat like that, your metabolism is pretty darn good my friend.

Don't eat like that all the time, but too often really. I'm sure those "last 10 pounds" would melt away were I to stop eating out altogether. When I cook it's usually healthy, unless we're having a lot of people over then I tend to buy a big premade lasagna just to make it easier on myself. Ask poor JP, he's carbed it up a couple of times over here. My numbers aren't great. I'm 5'3" and hover around 140. If the fat scale is at all accurate I'm about 25%. I'd be happy to lose about 10 and get the body fat below 20 by summer but we'll see. I'm 37 and that metabolism isn't doing me any favors. Oh and I like red meat and beer.

This is a year ago, I've lost about 8 pounds and gained a bit of muscle since then. Especially in the upper body. I'd like to get more definition in the arms, the muscle is there I just have to lose the layer of chub over them! Nutrition, nutrition, nutrition

You look damn good girl! Well, I think the answer might be a bit more obvious for you, as in self diagnosed nutrition. For me, I am really well behaved. Oh well.
Red meat is fine, isnt it? Just not those marbeled Porter house's drenched in bernaise!
I'm 36 with 2 kids and 2 steps, how bout you?

mmmmmm makes me want a steak. I like it thick and rare. If there were more guys reading this I'm sure that could be turned into something ugly 37, one small one of my own and 2 steps but one has graduated HS and is in Belgium for the school year before she starts college next fall. Most of the time it's just 3 of us.
I think I'm going to take the suggestion and get my body fat done by someone who knows how. I think there is someone at our Y who does it for members (we have memberships because the small one goes to afterschool there but we hardly use it, what a shame).

No SLOWER.. I'm not blessed at all but yes I was refering to BIA scales (I have a Taylor.. and very hard to believe that it's feed back is higher on the bottom :/ I have 22" thighs (26" waistline") and alot of the thighs are just fat

I'm getting terribly depressed .. and starting to feel like a freak.. I better drop this thread..
no I haven't go the book yet. probably in the begining of next week.
The Taylor BIA scale has 2 settings, one for "regular" people and one for more "athletic" types.. It gives 3 readings : weight, BF%, and water%.
the water % and BF % fluctuate inversly during the day (did some tests, but know weigh myself only 1 a week) but I didn't look more closely to find a real forumal to compare different water% <--- maybe I'll start a thread asking if people have experience with the Taylor BIA scale.
*sorry but gone from this thread*

Now I feel bad. Finally found some women to commiserate with about what we'd like to change, didn't mean to depress anyone. I don't own one of those scales but ODB and I have been looking at them. I'd LOVE to see a thread from people who have them comparing features/accuracy so GO FOR IT!
