Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
Now that I'm finally getting back into a semi-stable routine, I've found that my clothes--from a fitting only three weeks ago--are hanging off of me. Mind you, I have to be in a suit and tie all day now (trust me, it's as temporary as I can make it) and out working with hotel clients. Needless to say, I need to gain some weight. However, being on CKD makes that a little difficult as I don't want to overload on protein due to excess knocking me out of keto. I don't know the effects of upping my (good) fat intake.
Now, I'm not looking to actually build muscle mass as it's nearly impossible on CKD, especially with this being my third (yet longest) go at it. Should I splurge and get my suits altered and buy new shirts, stuff my clothes (hehehe), or just blow off CKD until I get a little more size on me? Keep in mind I'm a FFB (former fat boy), so carbs will make me balloon faster than Fergi.
I linked over to Wikipedia's definition of a ketogenic diet, and the side effects are pretty funny: high cholesterol, weight gain, dehydration, bone thinning. All easily remedied with exercise and water, though you never hear that in Atkins or South Beach.
what's going on phaed? I didn't even realize that this was your thread! I'm assuming things are going well?
the oxymoron part of the question kinda hits it home a little. if you're happy with the diet and are committed to keeping your weight in this general area then hell...buy some new clothes! You could always have them leave some fabric around the shoulders\chest if you'd want to have it let out in the future.
if you don't think that this diet is something that you really want to maintain...then you might start looking really hard at alternatives...mabey hold off a little while untill you do find something that you like and works for you.
Hey, G-man, things are things. Not horrible, not great, just there. Probably could use a night out and a lot of alcohol (and maybe a hit or two)
The problem with the alterations is that there's already slack taken up as I wanted the option of going off CKD and thus adding size again. However, it seems that I'm going to be on a perpetual CKD for the foreseeable future (hey, it's cheap, and it's effective; it's just not good for storing winter insulation). The diet rocks and has become just a part of my life, so I'll probably stick with it and see what happens. I can't get too much thinner without regaining the emaciated look I had while wrestling in high school, so I'm hoping I can score a gym membership that I can afford and spend the winter indoors doing some heavy lifting since CrossFit will be difficult at best to maintain, though there is a group in the city that I might try to seek out for advice.
Yes, your answer was vague. You suck
