Grilled salmon usually have the skin on. Is the skin just extra fat, or are there nutritional values to it and I should eat it?

I believe the skin holds extra omega-3's. Canned salmon includes the skin... I think if you don't mind it (and it is isn't overdried in the grilling) it can be a plus. You can brush some olive oil on the skin before cooking to minimize drying.

Yah I like the canned salmon skins cause they look so thin.
I got a poached salmon from a market today and the skin looked nice and juicy(maybe too much fat in them?) Salmon by itself doesn't have very much fat, but the part between the skin and the meat looks really fattening.

No harm in having some fat with your protein.
