Are these ok in the SBD?
If yes, in which Phase of the diet?

Chinese fondue
very thinly sliced lean beef [almost paper thin];
cooked in
broth
2 10-ounce cans onion soup
1 10-ounce can beef consomme

the broth is only used for "boiling" the meat fondue-style.

(usually there are sauces and rice with the fondue.. but I'd have it with Veggies only.)

Garnished Sauerkraut
6 servings
1½ lb. lean porc, cut into small cubes
2 tbsp olive oil
3 onions, chopped
2 - 28 oz cans sauerkraut, drained
3 tbsp paprika

  • Heat the oil in a pot that will hold all the ingredients.
  • Add the onions and cook about 5 minutes to soften.
  • Take off the heat a few seconds and add the paprika. mix well.
  • Put back on the heat and add the porc.Simmer for 30 minutes (covered)
  • Add the drained sauerkraut. Simmer for another 30 minutes (covered)
(usually served with sour cream on top and patatoes , but great as-is)

Thanks!

in theory both would be fine from phase I on.

you might check the lables in the first recipie to make sure that you're not sucking down a bunch of hidden carbs, but even if you were, I bet some subsitutions or quick and easy homade versions would make it very doable.

Yeah.. I can easily use homemade onion soupe in the recipe, but we're not eating the soups and consommé anyways, so very little of it goes in the beef.

Some other things I'll be gladly eating this week, that usually I don't splurge on are
  • shrimp
  • dried tomatoes sprinkled with quality olive oil and a few capers (in vinegar, drained)
And I'll take time more often to have
espresso coffee( no need for sugar or milk)instead of filter or instant.

It's good to have an oil sprinkler.. only discoverd that a few months ago, love it.
