A little over two and a half years ago, I started on my quest to not be fat. BMI of 32. Nowadays, I don't put a lot of stock in the ol' BMI. But, when you're fat and losing weight, it does mean something.
Two years ago today, I finally hit "Healthy Weight" territory with a BMI of 24, down from an "Obese" BMI of 32 or so. That I've been consistant with my health for two years is a proud acheivement for me. It's just hard to imagine living and eating like I did two and a half years ago.
Strangely, I've still got a BMI of 24, yet I've gone from over 20% body fat down to 12% in those two years.
Congratulations! Anniversaries like that mean a lot, and it's quite an accomplishment to keep the weight off so well. Great job!

Congrats, Lost_Dog, it's a great feeling to not only lose the weight in the first place, but to achieve success at keeping it off! I'm right there in the same exact BMI boat with you. Started off at 32+ and now at 24, although I don't put any stock in BMI at this point. I don't even want to know what my BF% was when I started!
BamaDave, I don't know what mine was when I started, either. I was too ashamed to know that much about my body. I didn't know my BP, cholesterol, measurements, etc., either. I HAD to weight myself so I could calculate how much to eat. Other than that, I wanted to be oblivious. I wish, now, that I knew those things.
I hope that in a year or so, my BMI will be in the "Obese" category again, but with more muscle and less fat!
