I've found myself without any cottage cheese or other casein-based protein. Now I'm certainly not panicking (after all it's just one night) but I'm kind of at a loss as to what would be SECOND best for bedtime nutrition.

These two options seemed to be pretty good:

1) chicken breast with olive oil
2) shake with whey, coconut oil, flax seeds

I'm thinking either of those would be relatively slow-absorbing.

What do you guys think? One of these, or drag my tired self out into the icy rain and buy some CC?

Go with option one. Even with the flax and coconut oil, the whey is gonna digest faster than the chicken w/ oilve oil. Amy animal protein with healthy fat is fine before bed.

like I mentioned in the OT thread...

I'd pop some BCAA's and not worry about the CC tonight.

Your body isn't going to catabolize enough muscle in one night to make a difference.

Also, Milk is a great source of Casein protein. Just don't take it with ZMA (if you take it) because the Zinc fights for absorption with the Calcium.

Hope this helps

I agree with Anubis, Milk. I'd drink a nice big glass of 2%. That's always my second favorite to cottage cheese.

Going with a chicken breast, olive oil and a glass of 1% milk. Good enough!
