The problem I have with weight control.. is that you can't completely cut out food!

It may not be addictive like smoking or alcool, but sometimes I just wish I could completely stop eating, I think it would be easier than eating sensibly.

Just an update if anyone is curious. I ended up contacting Craig of cbathletics.com and I am doing turbulence training for fatloss with personal instruction from Craig.

I took my one month progress weight, pictures and measurements yesterday. I am down to 342 (down 7 pounds in 4 weeks, down 12 in 5 weeks) and 6.5 inches total, 3 coming from my chest.

My diet is going really well, staying around 2500 calories per Craig with a 40p/30c/30f split. I am proud to say that I have not cheated in over a month, except one long island ice tea on my gf's birthday (a mistake that I regret). Didn't even cheat on Thanksgiving. Here is a link to my fitday if anyone wants to take a look: http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJ...wner=JMann2380

Average Calories
source gramscals %total
Total: 2415
Fat: 81 730 31%
Sat: 19 169 7%
Poly: 7 59 3%
Mono: 9 80 3%
Carbs: 225 731 31%
Fiber: 42 0 0%
Protein: 215 862 37%
Alcohol: 1 6 0%

We are gonna try cutting my cals a little more and maybe do some cycling with the totals to speed things up.

Well thats it, thanks everyone here for your patience in helping me, I think I am finally on my way. I might even make a fitness log here to track my progress along with a blog I am making.

JMANN Congratulations! nice work! You must be very encouraged and can really be proud of yourself!

I know what you mean by feeling bad about cheating.. but maybe take it this way.. If you force yourself to eat "too clean" for a very long time.. you might just end up with such a craving for cheat food.. that when you are through your diet and into maintenance.. you'll have more trouble.

I always hated sweet deserts until after my first real strict diet.. 2 months.. caught a cold.. took some caugh syrup.. and I was hooked on sugar for years!

Great job, JM.

I hate when people say "oh, this is easy" because for some people it isn't. My doc asked me to give up drinking for a while, it was easy for me but for some it isn't.

Cheating was very hard for me. The person I live with keeps a lot of stuff around the house, stuff that she knows I cave into. Now I allow myself to snack a little. I pick out something I really enjoy then sit at the table and eat it. No chips in front of the TV, I'll eat a slice of cake or some cookies sitting, with some milk or hot tea.

I'm glad to hear you're doing so well, Josh. Craig is one of the best guys in the business and you're in great hands. Keep going strong!

Hi JMann

I have been following your posts with great interest, though I have not posted. (Nutritional info is not my strong point). But I wanted to say" Keep it up" One slip does not mean you have failed!!

Keep at it. While on your diet try Totally eliminating one bad things (Don;t have it, even when you fall off the wagon- ie ice cream) and next month and one more forbidden fruit, so that you narrow down your cheat foods slowly and you will find you do not miss MOST of them so six months from now when you slip, it won't be as bad. Everyone slips.

Keep at it.

Jmann! Just wanted to chime in and say - keep it up bro! No matter what - don't ever stop. It's a marathon...not a sprint.

Keep peeling the onion buddy! It's all about sloooooow progress.

Just wanted you to know...we are still watching. Cause we love seeing your victories. It helps us because we are fighting to achieve our own goals too.

We're in this together. Hang in there.
