Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
I used it once a long while back and thought it seemed to help, but I don't have any numbers to back it up.
I currently just started taking it again this week. I'll be able to post more specific info in a month or so.
Don't waste too much money. I got mine at Vitacost.com Do a search for tonalin and it comes up. $11.99 for 120 capsules.
Oh, btw.... nice tats. I can't tell from the size of your pic but what are they? How many do you have?
I've got 8 myself.
*edit* clicked on your name and saw your profile photo. You and I look alot alike Anubis. Gotta get my butt in gear to get some pics taken with the wife's digi. I eventually get around to it. lol.
Similar things can be said about all sort of things, unfortunately.
I once bought a huge bottle of CLA, taking 3g per day, for a few months. It was expensive, so I stopped when the bottle ran out.
For instance, fish oil is said to have similar properties. How much less might I have lost if I hadn't been taking it all this time? Can't really know, can we. We must have faith or give it up.
I believe that the fish oil is doing me good (in many ways). If it's not leaning me out, at least it's giving me the other benefits.
Now, I think that CLA does work. But, I don't know what type of folks they did the studies on? Were they already somewhat lean? Probably not. Maybe it has a more noticable effect on those who have a lot more to lose.
Or, maybe it works better for those with otherwise poor diet and exercise habits.
Or, those who ONLY are taking one supplement (CLA). Often, these things have cross-over benefits. Taking four things (not meaning you, by the way) that can help you get lean doesn't mean you get lean faster (or more lean). The four things probably do, basically, the same or similar things, so don't have a stacked effect.
The worst thing about placebos is that once you think it's the placebo effect, it's no longer going to work. Oh, well...

gymrat,
I have 5 tattoos. Those on my arms are a dragon (right arm shown in pic) and a snake. That's Anubis on my back (at least the full jackal version, as opposed to the half man half jackal Anubis). I also have a gecko on my chest and also have one of Jim Morrison.
You know what they say G.R. Everyone's got a twin. Maybe even more than one. Yeah, now you got me wondering how closely we resemble one another.
Lost Dog.. you bring up some very good points. You're probably right, if I had about 50 extra lbs of fat before I started taking CLA I'd probably be noticing a difference right about now. I guess I'm just trying to lose that stubborn belly fat. I can see a 4 pack on myself but the last 2 are hibernating

Wow! Maybe you and I are more alike that I thought. That's exactly how I am. 4 pack with the bottom two still in hiding. I'm working like hell to get 'em to show though. I promise I'll get some pics up before too long.
I've got a flag tat on my left upper arm with an attacking eagle on top of it. A tribal design on my left shoulder blade, a tribal arm band all the way around with the chinese symbol for strength right on the inside arm where the band meets. I've got the chinese symbol for "daddy" with all my kids birthdates below it on my upper right arm and a tribal "ring" as my wedding band. They're addictive aren't they?
Your tats sound pretty cool, yeah they are addictive. I never got around to getting the tribal band, but always kinda wished I would. It just wouldn't go with what is already on my arms. Too bad they simply couldn't be erased when you're tired of them to put a new on on
