It seems as though I can never get EVERYTHING I need in a single stop. Sure, most of the stuff I can get at the super market, however, for some things I need to head elsewhere. For example, I can't find the good cereals I like at the supermarket so I will have to head over to a health food store to get the better brands. That Health Food Store doesnt have the "make it yourself PB" so I have to head somewhere else for that...you get the idea.
No, I always have to go to at least 2 stores. And not even for specialized stuff. If I don't like the way the fruit and veggies look at one store, I have to go to another. And then like you, only one store will carry the certain cereal I like, another one carries something else I need. It's a pain in the ass to be healthy
Ditto, I go to 2 or 3 stores usually. But I'm super picky...

Not a chance here in West Virginia. My 2 choices are chains like Walmart, Krogers, FoodLand and a hole in the wall health food/hippie bong shop a few blocks from where I live. I have to go to Walmart for most things, and then to a butcher for meat selections because I don't like Walmart's choices. The hippie health food store sells some nice low carb whole wheat burrito wraps that I like, but I always end up getting a contact buzz from walking in there.
commisary 9/10 but the produce has a nasty habit of sucking, walmart if we're in town anyway...I like their meat, occasionally sams..getting the "reduced for quick sale" stuff is great. Picked up boneless skinless chicken for like 40 cents a pound.
I do the same thing. It's Jewel for my general groceries, Dominick's for my low salt cottage cheese, Costco for oats, almonds, chicken in bulk, and Trader Joes for natty pb, Ezkiel bread and sometimes organic veggies/fruit.
Here in KC I end up going to two stores: a large grocery store for most staples, and the health/organic/ethnic market for natural peanut butter, organic fruit, granola, etc. And now that the summer's here, I often stop at the farmer's market on Saturday mornings, too.
I grew up in western New York -- anyone here a fan of Wegman's? You guys don't know how good you have it. They really had one-stop grocery shopping.

I have 3 stores near me that i visit on a regular basis. I usually check out the flyers every week to see what's on sale and visit the store with the lower price on a certain item.
For example, one store will have their liquid egg whites than one store but their chicken breasts are more expensive.
Significant ranges too.
Store 1:
Egg whites : 2.47$ per 500ml
Cans of Tuna : 0.59$ per can
Chicken Breasts : 14.99 per box
Store 2:
Egg whites : 3.09$ per 500ml
Cans of Tuan : 0.99$ per can
Chicken Breasts : 12.99 per box
All 3 stores are owned by the same head company but are different franchises so the items are all the same.
